Way to go Brandy and Tprevost!
I planned to do a ride with Different Spokes, sounded like an easy ride out of Dublin BART so fit my schedule. Spazzdog and her friend Kate (who hopefully will be on TE soon) were there. Kate and I were on the same train and car headed out, we both called the S'dog.
On the way out of the car it was a classic "are you going to..." "yeah, I'm meeting a friend ..." "yeah me too" we both see and wave at Spazzdog.... :D
My road bike front tire was not holding air so decisions decisions, I could stay and change the tire, would probably be late and no spare. I took the commuter.
I figured it's the Iron Horse Trail if I fall waaay behind the road bikes how lost could I get?
Turns out a lot of newbie riders, some without water bottles, some low tires (Kate introduced a rider to the wonders of the portable bike pump), no bike shorts wearing sweats....but nice group over all.
I must say I wasn't overly impressed with their safety overall but don't want to turn this thread into a rant.
I had no trouble keeping up with the mostly menfolk with the commuter. There was a bridge with a sudden bump and S'dogs water bottle few off. I saw it fly, turned and stopped to get it. Then had to sprint for a bit to catch up.
At Concord Kate, Spazzdog and I decided to head for BART and back home, the rest turned around, loop back and stop for lunch and shop I think.
