Yup, have completed one and now I've been bitten by the long distance bug!
Chick: ULCER is the initials. Re-read the last part of Auntie's post! ;)

Maybe I'll have to go to Cali to do one of those high elevation centuries, or the Tour de Gila which we have here.
Oh and be careful riding around your block....12 feet is a lot you know :P
Well... I will be doing an Ironman by 2010... and I will have to ride over 100 miles while competing.
It's my plan to start trying more 100 mile rides between now and then... to get use to it.
lol!Quote:

Piece of Cake, Oxysback, you won't have trouble doing that one. But you live in Oregon, why dont you the second half? It's not as far for you to drive!Quote:

Oops, edit--I've done five. Forgot a practice century two weeks before STP this year.
My first century is coming up 10/7. Everyone who knows me says I'll definitely be able to do it. Except for the woman in the mirror...I have a lot of riding yet to do to feel ready.
I was going to try and do a century a month this year. Life broke that plan(pun intended!)
I voted no, but I plan to. Although that isn't technically correct since I'm not really making a plan to do so. But the seed is planted somewhere in the back of my brain and hopefully it will sprout sometime in the near future. Right now with it being 100 degrees out every evening after work I can barely do 20 miles. Maybe when it gets cooler I'll be able to ride further. Are we ever going to get a break from this heat!?:(
i got the initials part, i was just trying to be funny and see if there was another story to the ULCER part. (like it was so hard it gave me an ULCER.)Quote:

I want to do mountain centuries next...he's not so sure! ;)
I think I did one about 30 years ago on a tour to Cape Cod, but it wasn't really intentional. I'd like to do some on purpose in the next few years.
My last ever event here in NZ will be the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge Century.
I fly out of the country and back home to England two days later.
I figured it was one hell of a way to leave with a blast!
First century coming up on Saturday! :D
Go girl! Is this a Brandy-Tiffanie ride? (that's your frequent ride partner, right?)Quote:
