Oooh, I just remembered BikerZ's little "Duck, Duck, Grey Goose" pun. Wonder what we could do with that.

Duck, duck, Grey Goose was mine (I think). I'm sure Z played a round or two with me though. Or maybe she did invent it and I got so drunk I forgot that bit... ;)
Oh, and heads down, thumbs up is that kids' game (I teach the brats, remember?) where everyone shuts their eyes and the folk who are "in" have to go around and squeeze someone's thumb, then the squeezees have to guess who did it - you guess correctly and you swap places with the squeezer.
Going off an idea someone else said... you can make index cards. On those cards you put let's say... Famous couples (or maybe something that is work related?).Quote:

**NOTE: Another idea is that you write down a movie name on one card and an actor/actress from that movie on the other card. Example: The Terminator/ Arnold S. ***
Then you mix them up and pass them out.
You then tell them that they have exactly 4 minutes to find their "partner". The ones who find their partner, will get a prize! The prize can be candy bars/fruit/etc. in a bowl and they get to pick one.
That way, they meet each other- it's fun- they get up and walk around- and they get a snack to wake them up later!
You don't suppose I could do TdF riders and stage wins? Might take all day.

Hmm, brainstorming. Feel free to tell me if my idea is lame, partially or completely.
Index card idea.
15 famous people who are frequently quoted and two quotes per person.
Famous persons with accents are good because it will be funny listening to people mangle the quote.
Each participant must recite the quote out loud until s/he finds their mate and then jointly identify the famous person to the judge (me).
Prize to be determined.
I just found out that I may have to do a 2nd presentation later in the afternoon. I'll reserve the candy throwing for that presentation.
If you want to stick close to your business theme, I think the problems and solutions cards can actually be a good intro to a presentation. It certainly works with decision theory (the so-called "garbage can" theory of decision-making says there are problems floating about without solutions and solutions floating about without problems and occasionally the twain meet and more or less work together, but they are not necessarily perfect matches). You could have three types of players -- problem owners, solution owners, and marketers whose job it is to explain how any random pair of them could be a good match for one another. And then when you've got their attention, you could go serious on them about how to do this sort of thing better, or how your software developers actually listen to problem owners and thereby actually have come up with good and readily salable solutions.
I have to do something silly. It is just my nature. And the team building need is for people to get to know each other personally and build rapport not to build trust in the company. We all work remotely from each other so it is very difficult at time to get to know someone personally. I think this makes a big difference in how we interact with each other.
So I'm just gathering stuff that might work. So, the pairing might be a character or a movie or a famous person. I should go find some Bushisms that won't completely set off political alarms. You know how hard it is to find quotes without sexual innuendo also???

Susan, that's hilarious, but I think it will have to reside on the same list with History of the World's "It's good to do the Queen."
Bubba just got home and the quotes are rolling! I can't type fast enough.
Just thought I'd share the collection so far. Nobody said I had a totally lame-O idea so I'm going with it. Prizes will be Jelly Belly stuff and Scharffen Berger chocolate to cement in the newbies heads that I am the sole person out in Kahlifornia and don't be looking for me in the main Scottsdale office.
Obviously, I'm going to have to weed out a few. I think I need 12 pairings to have a few extra. (I think I also need to verify a few that were written down from memory).

Ack, you're right! I just haven't had time to verify the accuracy of each one. Bubba was spewing them at my right and left. Then, Andrew came home and both barrels were firing. I'm lucky I got down what I did.
Thanks.
The two guys who won actually sung the songs from Willy Wonka:
"I’ve got a golden ticket" and "OOMPA LOOMPA DOOMPADEE DOO / I'VE GOT A PERFECT PUZZLE FOR YOU."
The 2nd place team found each other without the singing but then did sing "It’s the Inquisition, what a show. It’s the Inquisition, here we go."
This has been the only light spot in the last 2 days. We've had no team building and breaks have been minimal. We're constantly behind schedule and in total brain overload. The game was a great idea because people were literally getting stiff from sitting for such long periods. They were running across the room as they thought they heard the right line.
Thanks, everyone!
Jelly Bellies get handed out tomorrow. I suspect I'll be popular again.:p
