Do you ever lead that one?Quote:

I just ordered the '06 Trek 1000 WSD to be shipped and assembled at my LBS. I was tempted to have it shipped overnight because I have no patience but I figured I'd stay out of trouble with dh. lol
Don't know how long it will take to get here.
I don't think dh realizes all of the accessories I'm going to need to be ready and safe for the road. Have to ease him in to it so I doubt I'll be ready for the 29th - that's only one week away!!!!
I can't wait to get started! :D :D :D
Count me in for a monthly or bi-monthly TE ride too! :D This would be really fun and I would love to meet you all! I'm in Torrance, and I can meet anywhere for a ride.
My suggestion for a future ride would be to ride on the bike paths, such as the LA River Bike path. They are clean, free of traffic and 99% free of pedestrians, skaters etc. I'm hearing lately about waaay too many crashes :( on the RB to Marina del Rey bike path. It's so congested and I don't feel it is very safe, especially for the newer riders.
I'm looking forward to riding with you all soon! :D
Congrats Tiffanie on your new bike!:D

If younger than 8 - then I would suggest doing Sinks from the Hangman staging area. Also check for some of the specialty hikes - like "Animal Tracking with Deano" Tailored made for kids!!! Check out the hikes, let me know which ones you are interested in and I can give you information or if free, can join you. If possible, try and get out before the end of June as the wildflowers are peaking right now.
Pam,
I haven't had a chance to check out the website on weir canyon, are the hikes you are describing to Brandy on that website as well? I've got two boys and I would love to do the Animal Tracking hike w/them :D
T~
Judy aka greenmachine,
we are riding next Monday - send BCIPam your personal e-mail address and she will forward info for the ride on the 29th. Hope you can join us!
Tracy :D

You can email a reservation thru the website. They will send you information and directions. This is a good hike for kids. It goes from Hangman's to the sinks only about 3 miles round trip.
Here's another interesting hike for kids:

Pam,
You are da bomb!!!!!!! Holy Cow, I am LOVIN' THAT WEBSITE! Or rather, the 'stuff' on it! I have signed up for the 8/12 hike with the boys and requested a reservation via email for the 6/17 hike to the sinks. We're going to be out of town or I'm on bike rides for the others but I am SO excited!!!!
Once things settle down I'll look again for stuff I can sign up for (the strenuous hikes and beginners bike stuff!).
You are such a great source of information, I can't thank you enough!!!!
Tracy:D
ps. did I say thank you ????? :D
Count me in on any South Orange County or North San Diego County rides!
Just road though. My mountain bike is completely out of commission.

Tracy and everyone - just a note the Bommer Canyon/Irvine Ranch Land Reserve I have nothing to do with. It's s "sister" organization that's run by the City of Irvine. The North Reserve/The Nature Conservancy hikes and rides (which I am a docent) are only posted two months at a time - so right now May and June is listed we haven't done July or August yet. I can't speak for the Bommer hikes or rides. I know their mountain bike rides are very hard core. I would email them for more information on their hikes.Quote:

yes, Pam, but I still say THANK YOU a ton because I would have NEVER known about this stuff without you!
So there! :D I really appreciate your knowledge of the area!
Tracy
ps. will definately call to clarify ride levels/difficulty! AND, we hope you can come on the 17th (assuming they can get us in!)
Hi ...

Thanks!!
Karen
Karen:
