BUT,
It reminds me of a 70mile HILLY race I did in Cape Town last month. I trained for it and had a road bike. Some friends who don't ride (they both jog, but not long distance) were in South Africa with us for the vacation aspect and decided to ride at the last minute. They both rented ill fitting mountain bikes and helmets, and although one said it was the hardest thing she'd ever done, they both finished!!!
Shows you what mind over matter can do. I'm still impressed with them because that ride wasn't easy!!!
