WOW! Now, that's probably detailed enough I won't get lost!
of course that area to the north of the lot has been developed with housing....
Thanks Cindy! You rock!
OK - I need details. Speed? Terrain?
:D
snap
Hey Snap! According to what I can find of the ride on Krebs, it should be relatively flat... Cindy promises mainly rollers and a climb or two. Valley Spokesman rates it at a 1.5. I think the ride will actually be a 2 because Cindy has changed it a bit.
Please come! It would be great to finally ride with you! We could even 'pool if you want.
yep, a 2 is a good rating for that ride - "a challenge for beginners" - I'd only rate it that based on the miles. The rollers are fairly early in the ride and not too steep.
as for pace, we break up into groups of about 15 people based on pace. The slowest group tends to average around 10mph and the fastest group averages about 16mph, give or take.
Rats! I can't come on the ride this weekend - I'm looking at 3 weekends of "sorting, packing, hauling, dumping, carrying, unpacking, repeat 'til done or dead!" Friends are helping me out, so I'm working around their schedules, which is weekends. Hmmm. Once I'm moved into my new place and settled in I'll be back out with you guys, but I'll have some serious catching up to do... I'll miss seeing all of you this weekend :( - have a great time, and I look forward to reading the report (and seeing photos???)

Crud, I was really hoping to see you. Snap, did you decide? The course looks pretty tame; just distance (aka butt) training.
Maybe I'll come early and wave you all off!
Snap- don't let the little rollers worry you. After you pass the "Fairfield City Limits sign" about a mile after Marshview, it's all FLAT and I mean FLAT!!!!!!
We set up the course so when you come home, you take the flattest route! Last hill (Park) has a halfway spot where you can rest a minute before going on.
BikerZ- yes do come and wish everyone off! It will be a gorgeous day. You can stop by the 1st Street Cafe and get a scone (my most fav- and I'm a scone freak)before you head on home to finish packing. At least packing is exercise! :p :p :p :p
Oh yeah- you could be the staff photographer! I'll have the camera ready! It's called point and shoot (no pun here, really)
Hey Nancy,
I have logged on the form, however, not sure how to post to everyone yet. I will hopefully figure it out in the next day or so. How exciting! How do you like my log on name??
Sandie
Hello,
I am a new member who met Bike Goddess a couple of weeks ago. She told me about your group and I am very excited to meet other women who love to ride. I am looking forward to meeting you all and getting some miles in. Anyone riding the Jelly Belly this Saturday?
Sandie
Hi Sandie! I'll be coming up from San Jose for the ride. Welcome to TE and I'm looking forward to meeting you on Saturday!! :) Please go over to the "Getting to Know You" thread in the Open Topics area and tell us a little more about yourself!!
OK - So maybe I'll get out to Benecia and say "Hi" to the familiar faces, meet some new folks, and wave you guys off :) - that should give me enough good vibes to get through the rest of the yuckiness at home!
I'm expecting to be packed, moved, unpacked and (more or less) settled by the end of March, and once I'm past this "one hour at a time" phase, I'm really looking forward to being out on some long rides with you guys. In the meantime, its just short workouts, a bit of walking, and let's not overlook the calories burned from stress and anxiety, and insomnia!
Since I am totally unfamiliar with the area, can someone suggest a good place for a post-ride meal? Anyone care to join me? I'd prefer not to drive back to San Jose with Jack-in-the-Box in one hand, other hand on the steering wheel. :)
Z... I'm incredibly sad that you won't be there tomorrow. Can you nosh after, at least???
