We went out for a shorter ride today; 17 miles. Poor Steve, his back is screwed up from lifting a toilet and sink up our stairs, but I harrassed him all morning, saying , "How can you NOT ride on a day when it's in the 50's in January?" So we compromised. I notice that Concord doesn't sand as much as Boxborough (which was unbelievable in spots). They seem to use chemicals, since our street is always ice free. There were a few spots where I had to dodge sand and water, in Carlisle, but not bad. Denise, the wind gusts were crazy! It felt like at least 20 mph near the end of the ride, at about 1 PM. We rode at a slow speed, but it felt really good.
I don't know, tomorrow is supposed to be in the 30's. I don't usually go there....
Robyn (still hoping for snow, though)

Great Weather
I got out both Friday and Saturday for rides and walks with the dog. I just couldn't stay indoors. Friday I rode by myself around my area. The roads were mostly clear though a few patches of ice and snow remain in the shady areas. Some of the roads were pretty sandy. Saturday I met one of my friends in Kennebunkport and we test rode a new route for the women's ride starting up again in April.
I'm heading into Kennebunkport for our Sunday ride shortly. It is much colder this morning but seasonable. Because of the road conditions we've been using mb/cross bikes for the last six weeks but I'm taking my road bike this morning.
