Same thing but a little updated -
Holding onto anger is like peeing down your leg. You're the only one who feels it.

Sure wish my co-worker would get over the anger. Not much fun being on the other end of the stick! And yes, I think her socks are getting wet quite frequently too!
If it is to be, it's up to me. A much happier co-worker heard it somewhere.
Related but slight hijack. We have some great footers and quotes right here on TE. Which are your favorites?
We'll just try it and if it doesn't work, we'll try something else.
I've heard this attributed to Harry Truman.
mine i've heard from the series Criminal Minds.
"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” - Kahlil Gibran
"Just a reminder. I belong to no one, I am owned by no one,
I answer to no one. If I give you my time,
it's a privilege and not an obligation." :D
This is my sig on another forum:
If a man is called to be a street-sweeper, he should sweep streets...so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, "Here lived a great street-sweeper who did his job well." -Martin Luther King Jr
I snatched this from a friend's facebook wall today:
"In civilization we try to combat winter. We try to modify it so that we can continue to live the same sort of life that we live in summer. We plow the sidewalk so we can wear short shoes, and the roads so we can use cars. We heat every enclosed space and then, inadequately clad, dash quickly from one little pocket of hot air through a bitter no man’s land of cold to another. We fool around with sun lamps, trying to convince our skins that it is really August, and we eat travel-worn spinach in an attempt to sell the same idea to our stomachs. Naturally, it doesn’t work very well. You can neither remodel nor ignore such a big thing as winter."
Louise Dickinson Rich, We Took to the Woods, 1942
:D :D :D
so true!
Google says Buckminster Fuller, but I can't find any actual citations. I don't immediately see any debunking either though, which you do with a lot of common attributions. :p
