Margulis had a wonderful full life 15 years is a good long life for one starting out life as a stray. Reading your story made me cry. Its a sadness we all have to endure. We are never ready for it.

aw, what a sweet story. I am sorry for your loss. I lost a 16 year old cat last week from kidney failure (I think) too. She was slowly deteriorating and suddenly got so much worse that i had her pts.
Even though I have 3 other cats and she wasn't even my favorite; I keep looking for her and missing her presence.
I'm so sorry. Every loss is just that, a loss, and my heart aches for you. Take care.

Lynn Margulis was my very first undergraduate advisor (eons ago) when I was a biology major at Boston University. I changed majors lickety-split -- nothing against her, it was the hordes pre-meds I couldn't stand :D -- so that was that.
