I got the invite and registered, but I don't really get it yet. Can anyone explain?
I have an alpha-geek friend who sent me an invite a month ago ... but I didn't get to it right away and when I clicked I got a generic come back later message.
Last weekend the floodgates opened -- other people had gotten in, so I tried again and got in. Now even I can send invites.
Basically it's competing with Facebook. It gives me more control over who sees what... and there isn't the crappy clutter.
The "how to do circles" had "cycling geeks" as an example of the woman's circles... so I figure one of twho things happened: Enough people in Google's powerful mine-eery-word-you-type data stashes said "Bicycle" for it to be considered a cool hip thing to use as an example... or... they're already catering things to individuals and they know *I* am into cycling. I want a non-biker-babe to let me know...
My sister sent me an invite. I'm liking it thus far--it seems cleaner and a little more user-friendly than Facebook.
I hadn't heard anything about it til this last week; then again, I've been out of the country for two weeks. I did read a brief article that said the members (so far) are overwhelmingly male (while FB is about 50/50 male/female) and has a high % of techie types.
I'm passing for now. Heck, I just signed up for FB this spring. I can't handle yet another new social media thing to keep up with.
i'm on google+ but the problem is, I have no friends there... so its kinda hard to see how well its working. I'm also not so keen on just adding everyone, coz then it'll be just like facebook. hmm...
I'm being a bit more selective with Google+...but also making good use of the circles. I like being able to finely target posts to a specific group. For instance, I can set up a circle just for family members when we want to plan something.
I'd be happy to add anyone from TE. :)
I'm in, my son gave me an invite, but no one else I know is in.
And don't think that Google won't find it's own way to use our information for something.
I like it so far, though a lot of my friends haven't converted yet, so I don't have a lot of friends on it yet, so I usually just pop in and see what's up and then leave, but yeah, it's definitely more stable, and I like the way it handles a lot better
The google+ wont popular than Facebook.
Now days google+ getting more social exposure, but i am confident it wont popular than Facebook. You know in this world almost all countries peoples has using Facebook for social networking.......>!!
I have some invites if anyone wants one. (PM me your email)
Oh, and feel free to use the invite without being my "Friend" or whatever it's called in google+
