My hubby's bike is carbon and he's never had an alum. bike. His previous bike was steel and our tandem is steel. I think he *got* how miserable I was on alum. when we did our first ride on the tandem and I sat back there oohing and ahhing over how smooth everything felt--even roads I refused to ride on my bike, because they were so freshly chip-sealed and rough. I can't wait to see what those roads feel like come warmer weather!

The only thing I really don't like about this bike is the teardrop seatpost. It's a pain in the @$$ to change saddles and some don't even fit properly :mad:

Thanks -- the original color scheme was to be more teal and orange (kinda the reverse of my previous bike, which was turquoise with orange tape), but we couldn't find cable housings and tape in the same shade of teal/turquoise. The bar tape now almost perfectly matches my shoes. :DQuote:
