That's it, Zen! They deliver to Arlington, thank goodness.
Even their skim milk is delicious. My husband loves the horseradish cream cheese!
My husband and I are going to have to make a trip up there sometime to see the cows.
it's that time of year.
I've been thinking about that egg nog for some time now, I'd like to get over there next week
The eggnog my family makes is the most decadent thing I have ever eaten. Actually, I can't really eat it anymore it is JUST TOO RICH>
I'd have to look at the recipe to get it right, but you take egg whites and whip them up; heavy cream and whip it up, lots of white sugar, rum, some other liquor (can't remember what), vanilla flavoring, and I think that it is it. It is maxed out, whipped cream in a cup!
You have to eat it with a spoon.
My boyfriend's dad makes eggnog that involves four types of booze. He hasn't made it for a while, because he doesn't want to buy and open that much. Maybe if I'm ever over for Christmas...
Rum, cognac, bourbon and what else? You're going to keep us in suspense????
I actually don't remember off the top of my head. Sorry! :o
It may be a second type of whiskey...that would make sense...
It's not worth the guilt I feel by eating/drinking all of that stuff. I have a piece of chocolate every night and dessert maybe once every week or ten days. I'm at the point where I gain a pound if I eat a piece of nice whole wheat bread.
I know I exercise enough and I go out to eat frequently. And if I over indulge, my sensitive stomach reminds me.
Life is short, drink GOOD eggnog

Not quite in yet, movers were supposed to come today, I postponed till tomorrow. It's incredibly quiet here in the city compared to where I was.
Where did you move to, Zen?
I like the taste of eggnog, but besides the calories, I would be ah, in the bathroom for the rest of the day if I drank it.
I'm afraid I'm not sure what a homemade eggnog tastes like --for past few decades we just buy the stuff from the store. Yes, awful since too much sugar and other crap.
This was yesterday:
Had my usual breakfast which included milk and cornflakes, tangerine and tea with milk.
But later throughout the day at work:
2 candy canes
1 c. equivalent of chips
3 little cookie desserts
2 small chococlate wafers
1 doughnut
2 cups of coffee with milk
By supper, I had a good bowl of vegetable tomato soup. I could tell, they made it from scratch --not oily and not creamy. Great.
Supper was supplemented 2 hrs. later by 2 pretzel buns and a slice of cantaloupe.
Needless to say, if it weren't for the tomato soup, I could have had a sugar bonk.
and heavy whipped cream and cointreau liquer or sometimes grande marnier.
Mulled wine- the dutch recipe I have has two bottles of red wine (dry) which are simmered with an orange studded with cloves for a couple of hours and then has a cup of brandy and a cup of turbinado sugar stirred in before serving. good hot cold or in between. Yumm..
I always drink Soy Nog made by Silk, and I love it... sprinkle a little nutmeg on it and it's good to go! It's worth a try if you're really concerned about the health issues associated with drinking the real thing. No cholesterol is always a plus!
