Make that +2. I think the bike pictures I drool over the most are the touring/commuting bikes with rich creams, dark oranges, sage greens, or brownish colors with wood fenders & leather seats & tape. Somebody posted one recently with cool whitewall (although not white) tires. Very classy. Not that that is the kind of riding I do. So many of the road bikes now look "busy" to me, like they are trying to make them look fast, but missing the boat.
I picked the oranges and greens category, but it all depends on the shade. Emerald green, no, sage green, yes. Safety vest orange, no, deep pumpkin, yes. However, I have been in an orange accessory stage for a while now - sort of a mango color.

Maybe it's just me, but it depends on the bike. For a commuter/city bike, I like brown/black/grey. Road bike, bright blue. Mountain bike, red or orange or maybe green feels right...
On a related note, when I went shopping for new running shoes yesterday, my request was no pink. My previous 2 pairs have been pink, they've felt right on my feet, but I hated the color... I ended up with a great pair in blue that were marked down!

color coordination
I have so many colors in my closet, both regular clothes and bike clothes. And I am someone that likes to be color coordinated, including the bike and my bodysoc (that's the fabric cover around me on my recumbent). So after having blue then green then teal bikes, I've stayed with black and then silver and then ti for my bikes. That way, no matter what I am wearing, I'm never going to clash with the color of my bike :-)
Hmmm, I just realized that I do not have a good picture of my TiRush (that I have had for 2 years now). My avatar is my old black bike. Might be time to remedy that.

Mondonico ~ silver with a subtle hint of lavender. The chart called the color "metallic plum" but depending on the light it's anywhere from pink to light purple. I never get bored with the color because it's always changing. :cool:
GT commuter ~ bright, loud, visible "you moron, how can you tell me you did not see that????" screaming school bus YELLOW :D :D
Mixte ~ beautiful green tea green. Picked it out of the gutter and rebuilt it because of the color and because it's a great bike :)
Knott's Giant ~ she picked the red to match a hint of deep red in the headbadge. My gal has taste and Chris and his guys matched it beautifully.

I agree, it depends on the bike. Also, I like muted colors and then I like to accessorize with something ...whimsical - that can be changed. Moreover, I would take the 'perfect" bike in whatever color I could get. Though, when I have a custom bike powder coated, it will be very similar in color to Lisa's bumble bee luna.

Color never once entered into my decision in buying a bike. I was buying the bike, not a "look." Maybe I am weird?
My road bike is red, black, with a little white. My fun, around town Jamis is royal blue.
My mtb is a very plain chocolate brown.
Now that I have a red bike, I finally got the red shoes to match. But other than that, color does not enter into any bike decisions for me.
Now clothes for the bike, that's a different story.
I am the same way with cars.

Where is "all of the above"? And why is it assumed that pink is a pastel or feminine? My cross bike is hot bubblegum pink and a ton of guys have said they want it. There were some dang hot racer bodies sporting T-Mobile pink for a while (OK, let's not get into the drug problems).
