Wow!!! managed to get up and ride after a 35MPH crash into a rock field.
It's late tonight but if you are are still up and reading this, have some one check on you for next several hours. Have them engage you in conversation to make sure you're okay.
If you wake up with a headache tomorrow morning go see a doc ASAP. crash like yours should never be taken so lightly.
Wish you a speedy recovery and congrats on your podium finish.

It was pretty traumatic... I think the craziest part about it was seeing exactly how fast I was going when I crashed. I walked around for a good part of the day yesterday wondering how I managed to be feeling so un-injured.
It's just the groin that hurts now- anyone got advice other than rest & ice?
No other good advice from me other than that. I had a groin injury from ballet years ago and it took forever to heal because I kept taking class.Quote:

So sorry to hear about your crash. If you haven't been checked out yet with x-rays I would strongly consider it. There are some small pelvic bones that can fracture easily in a crash, and I can't help but wonder if you could be perceiving something like that as 'groin pain'.
Hopefully its just soft tissue damage, but even that can take quite a while to heal, and sometimes it can be speeded up by physical therapy, so you may also want to consult with a PT on what you should be doing to heal as quickly as possible.
Well, at the suggestions of Trisk and a friend of mine who is a PT, I went to a doc back on Tuesday to get a hip X-ray. Nothing is broken... he says I have a torn hip adductor and that it will heal on its own in a few weeks.
So, of course, I'm racing in the Tennessee State Championship Road Race today :D
