Well here I thought that the damaged nail bed on my left big toe could be "all fixed" if I'd just have the toenail taken off and let it grow back. I'm partially relieved that I'm not just postponing surgery out of stubbornness and unwillingness to be off my feet - but partially disappointed that apparently it can't be fixed.
