Just a little update, no miracle cure shoes or solution as of yet, but any rate...
This pic is of the Northwave brand. This is a ladies road shoe size 41. You can see it's more "flipper foot" shaped. I took this shoe with some others to podiatrist guy # 2 today and he said this shoe is the closest yet. Also, he suggested that a quality shoe store could stretch it a bit. Since a few of you ladies were looking for brands to fit this shape, thought I would post it. BUT... omg, Northwaves are SO limited to find! I went to their web site and it's very limited. Plus, trying to find your size on the few that carry them. Anyone know how to get them, please chime in...

Oh, also on an additional fitting difficulty note... I thought I'd add this pic too. It's of my heel size (on the left), and DS (on right) who is 7yo (kids size 2 US). My heel is only a few MMs wider when we traced them. *sigh* guess how my 7yo boy heel fits in size 41 mens shoe? Crud... still searching....

Hahaha, I'll have to try that though my boy's only 5...
Thanks for the update. For my next shoe I'll at least give Northwaves a shot if I can try before I buy. If the heel's too wide I'll pass, would rather have squishy toes than floaty heels when it comes to the bike.
Finally found my Asolo hikers. For their trial run I took them on the 10 mile Green Rock trail. Crazy, I know, but not a blister nor rub for the duration. It's been the same for every pair I've had. Love love love my Asolos.
