YES! That was me! :D The funny thing is, I saw your bike too! But I wasn't sure it was it. I stared at it a bit thinking, "Is that that new bike I was just staring at on TE with the pink handlebars and the white seat and the cool looking silver/black frame?", and then decided, "Nope, she had pink bottle cages." Apparently, I got your bike confused with someone elses I guess. You and me are the one's still trying to find the perfect pink bottle cages.
That is so funny. I didn't even know you were in my area. I'm in Rancho Cucamonga. Dh and I drove down to Yorba Linda with our friends and rode from there. We did 65. I kicked my butt! 18.0 average pace, which is massively awesome huge beyond words thrilling for me. EVEN if I was drafting dh the entire way! :D I was still exerting myself so much for the entire ride and can't believe I sustained it that long. I was really hurting at the end. The last 10 miles were killer. But I did it. :)
I just think that's so funny that I saw your bike (but not you) and you saw my bike (but not me)! It's all about the bikes. Easier to spot when we've just been looking at each other's bike pictures. :) I think you were actually standing at your bike, but I was trying not to be too obvious that I was staring at it and then had decided I didn't think it was it. I was walking to the bathroom at the time.
How many miles did you do?
Hahaha this is so cool and funny at the same time. What are the odds of seeing each other's bikes after seeing them on the TE forum??
I did an easy 25 miles today since I am still recovering from the Disneyland Half Marathon I ran yesterday. My ITB was flaring up, and I thought an easy and fast spin would make the pain go away, but nope! It felt ok on the flats, but those little dips were agonizing on my ITB. Thank god the group I was riding with (besides BF and 2 of his friends) were rather slow. But I got bored of going way too slow, so I ended up going at a 15 mph average by myself, and got to know my bike a bit better :)
One thing I did notice, and I was kind of annoyed by it...some male cyclists were making smooching kissy noises at me!
I live up in LA, but frequently ride that trail for easy, fast rides. BF is doing the Amtrak Century next week with his friends, I will tell him to keep an eye out for the Cannondale with pink handlebars and saddle!
omg!! i plan on replacing my white bar tape with pink when it gets too filthy and that is just about the perfect color. i'm so glad i popped in here! and yr bike is very nice too! haha.
Stunning! Feminine, yet strong-looking too! Nice..nice ride!
My husband did the Disney half! :D He came in 67th. His big brag is that he came in ahead of "some" of the elite women. :) I told him if he hadn't had to stop at the portable potties (rare for him), he would have beat at least one or two more. Ha ha! His bib number was actually 57, so he was in the first corral, but when they made the announcement for all the elite runners to come to the front, and then clarified that meant 60 and under ... he just stood there feeling funny and decided to stay right where he was (with a friend).
Are your ITB's feeling better today? My thighs are killing me from yesterday. My friend and I attempted to do an 18 mile training ride with a good amount of climbing today, but both decided that it was just SO not necessary after we were out and our legs were burning! Ouchie! It would have been counter productive, so we turned it into a nice recovery ride. (We were trying to make up for the fact that we lost a training day on Sunday due to my friend's crash.)
67th!! Wow! BF came in at 406. Me? 6615. Hahahaha. Your DH is quite the athlete!
My ITB is feeling much better. I took today off from working out, and my legs feel so much better as well (my quads were super duper tight). Recovery rides are good, but be sure to taper before your ride on Saturday.
We should all go out for a ride one day!
Yes, we are tapering. No riding today. Tomorrow we may do an easy ride of some sort, and probably just a short spinning ride for me on Friday. I think I do better on a long ride if I at least spin my legs the day before for at least 30 minutes.
I have done a couple of half marathons, by the way. I was a "walk/runner". I did San Francisco at about 2:55 or so and Long Beach slightly faster. That was before I "retired" from running and dove into cycling, never to return! I love cycling. Hated running. :)
Yes, we should ride together sometime.
Squeeeeeeeee!!!
She is gorgeous!
Pink tape is going to be high on my list when I get some $$$$ :D
(It's my Madone with the pink bottle cages)
