What a little cutie!
Some of those turtles like to eat all sorts of caterpillars. When my son was about 3 we played with a box turtle for hours, and fed it silkworms(inchworms?)
that were hanging from a tree. It took a good chunk out of my finger too!
I posted here 'cause I had this feelig if there were something I wasn't thinking of... I remember those swimming pool filter rooms now... It's goin' to the shed (no bikes there) 'til I can find it a home. (Hey, it says in big letters "OXIDIZER" on the bucket, even.) THanx!
My husband has threatened to make me a sign to hang on the saddle that says "I brake for turtles". I am a big fan! When I see turtles in the road I try to (safely) stop and move them across the road in the direction they are going. .:)Seriously I do have a bell that I ring for DH when I am stopping for a wildlife related issue.
Turtles are quite stubborn, so if you put them back where they came from, they will just try it again.
Box turtles are the state reptile of NC, so I feel justified in my crusade. Your guy/gal is a different matter all together but glad you saved 'im/'er.
We found a digital camera one time. It was like new. It takes very good pictures.
I once found a canvas bag someone used as a purse (so I suspect) and it had ten dollars and a single earring in it. And some melted chocolate.
I still use that bag to hold my helmet, shoes, and gloves in.
What a lucky day!
What happened to the chocolate  ;)
today we found 89 cents in loose change along about a 50 foot section of road downtown. Good thing we weren't in a hurry! :D:D
