Born to Run - Week of April 27

Limewave, you are confirming my need to start trail running!!

I, um, was a slacker today. I am shifting my run days a wee bit this week but it IS a rest week. Somebody at work was wearing heinous perfume and I was sneezing and headache-y all day. I had to run errands on my way home from work and, um, yeah. I'm going to bed and will run tomorrow. It's sad because I'm happier when I run but I just have that instinct thing that I'm better off sleeping.

Anyway, I had to comment on the beautiful trail pictures! That and I had to confess that I was lazy.

That's much nicer than my trail! Great running area!

None-the-less, I was on my trail today (oops, yesterday to most of you... I'm still up at 12:30am). Intervals again today -- 3.7 mi run in 40 min, but in the middle of slow runs I did #16 x 30 sec sprints. then 30 sec rests. OK... a couple of those were 60 sec rests! :o Seemed very hard to start, but after the 6th or 7th I fell into a rhythm (which means I likely slowed down!).

Had to swim later in afternoon. Long day. Should go to bed!

Kali ran with me for about a mile, after put her back, I ran another 4 miles on the street near my house. Beautiful day here.

You kept up with a Husky pup for a mile? I'm impressed! I used to take my Husky out on walks/runs, but she was sooo fast - I think I bored her to pieces. She's 11 now. Took her for a walk in the park today. Much more of a walk than a run, but she still loves it.

Did two miles easy yesterday morning, and I'm shooting for 5 miles of tempo Thursday or Friday, depending on whether or not we get storms either of those days. Our big annual 10K event is a week from Saturday. I'm not really ready, but I might sign up last minute. We'll just see how it goes.

4.1 miles this morning. My pace for 4 miles is just about the same as my pace for 3 miles. At least I'm consistent. :p

I don't think I've run that far since high school.

Had to run this morning. It's dark at 6:00 AM and I'm not running in my neighborhood, in the dark, alone.

Went to the gym and got on the treadmill... 47 minutes... 5 miles. Did a walk/run combo to make it more tolerable. I hate running in the morning.

Once I get sick of the treadmill in the morning, I'll get my lazy butt out of bed earlier and join my tri group for their 5:15/5:30 AM runs.

Until then, I'm getting some extra sleep.

I ran on Tues. 5 miles, slowly increasing my distance. Unfortunately, I was sore after and sore the next day. Still a little sore today but I think I'll be able to run come tomorrow morning. This slow build is killing me. I think I got sore in part because my hips were so tired still from riding the TT this last weekend and that made me put more pressure on my lower leg. Sigh.

8 weeks until my first big race and I have to be ready to do a half mary for it.

I haven't run at all this week. I took all my running gear (so I thought) to work to go to the gym and run on the treadmill on Tuesday on my lunch break. I was psyched. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten to bring a towel from home. I can't run at lunchtime and not shower afterwards, no way. And unfortunately, by the end of the day I got too busy, had to work late, and couldn't get down to the gym since my puppy and DH were waiting patiently at home.

Sigh...sometimes the gods are just conspiring against ya! :(

I did get to ride the mountain bike tonight (FUN!), tho, so am planning a "recovery" run tomorrow, easy and short.

Well this is the running/WALKING section, right? Today was housework and yardwork - my walk consisted of walking to the end of the driveway to get my trash can and the mail. Woo-hoo, two pairs of new shorts from TE! One mile, with wheelbarrow.

I managed yet another 5km run at lunch today - that's 4 weeks on a row. The kids are working towards a half marathon (they've done 20km so far) and they only have one more day left but I think I might just keep 5k at lunch twice a week because it gives me more free time after school (to ride my bike of course :D) (After school I did a hard 40km ride with a steady 8km climb. Keep an avg of about 28kmh throughout most of the climb and my HR was 168 steady. I'm tired now...)

Eastern Hognose Snake....we thought is was a Timber Rattler at first look, but then again, I did not get that close...

naw, it's a milk snake - look at the pattern on its head. But yeah, I don't suppose it would take kindly to being stepped on :cool:

Did 3 miles this morning in the drizzle and lightning by myself. We're in Indianapolis at The Boy's parents place so it was a big deal for me to actually get out and run by myself on unfamiliar roads. We're in town for the Mini Marathon tomorrow, which The Boy is running in. I was supposed to, but had to sell my bib due to injury. Right now I'm warring emotionally with myself, part of me is excited to watch the event and cheer The Boy and his sister and her hubby on, but there's also a big part of me thats jealous and a bit resentful. Sigh.
