Did you decide to try the Alberta tri you mentioned? Whereabouts is it?

Hi Kelownagirl-
The 1/2IM is in Oliver-1st weekend in June- supposed to be a good course for first timers because the bike is relatively flat- doesn't climb any major passes or anything and the weather should be good though last year the temps were up in the mid 30C - yikes I hope it isn't that hot this year!
Crossing my fingers--
March - Indoorman (Sprint) - may not be happening, though
April - Bridge City Duathlon
May - Sask Marathon (pace bunny) - registered
June - Spin Off Spadina (Olympic)
July - Desert Half Iron - registered
August - Lake Summerside (relay Olympic)
September - Queen City Marathon
October - Sask Ultramarathon (50km)
November - Silverman Half IM - registered
2009
May - Sask Marathon
June - IMCDA
July - Sylvan Lake Half Iron
August - Kelowna Apple (Olympic)

Hey,
I just, just discovered this forum after searching high and low on the Web for some other women who were serious about training and, well, here you all are! HI!
My schedule for this year is as follows:
April: 1/2 mary
June: HIM
1/2 mary
July: HIM
August: Olympic
September: HIM (Muskoka! We managed to get in under the wire for Muskoka!)
I'm currently training about 10-12 hours a week, time that will definitely be increased once I can get out onto the road with my...new...Cervélo P2C! I'm too psyched for the coming year. DH is hoping to qualify for Clearwater this year and I'm hoping to survive the season :P.
I'm glad I found you all...
Skinny Kitty... glad you found TE! Good luck with your schedules... that sounds like a major undertaking for the season! Keep us posted on the progress.
Mine is quite a bit less aggressive.. but big for ME.
- April has a "Lopez Island" bike ride that would be fun; Probably do my own "Chilly Hilly" ride sometime in May (around Bainbridge Island with all the HILLS).
- I've got an Olympic June 28 (Lake padden in Bellingham, WA)
- July 4th is the local 5 mile race in town (Sedro-Woolley)
- August... just got into the Danskin.. otherwise was considering Couer dAlene, ID, olympic... could still do it as it is one week later. Hmmm...
- Fall... MAYBE a longer run... 12k or half marathon depending on how my hips / shins are holding up!
So this is a LOT for me! But I am looking forward to it all! (OK, maybe not this HILLY ride stuff!).
