For me it goes with feeling cold. Drives my fat-hunger (hey, that's really a WORD in Norwegian :D ) crazy. I can finish eating lunch, and still feel "hungry" because there wasn't enough fat in it. It helps if I dress really warmly at work and drink lots of hot drinks.
But I just polished off a whole bar of dark chocolate, so who am I kidding...
Wow, you were able to keep a bag of cookies going for three whole days? I am seriously impressed. I don't buy baked sweets unless I am okay with eating it in one sitting. Because I will. And I buy them way too often, too.
I don't really notice a seasonal change in my cravings, but before I started flying south for the winter, I would definitely gain weight in the winter and lose it as soon as they knocked back the daylight savings time in the spring. Pretty obviously light related, in my case, but then I'm very aware of my body's response to natural light, anyway.
I always called this "putting on the winter blubber layer."
Maybe, if I make is sound un-appealing enough, I won't do it!
Although I feel guilty about the over-packaging issue, I try to buy (note: TRY) only single-serve packages of cookies and treats - what they target/market for kids' school lunches. That way, it serves as a portion control for me. DH and I could do SERIOUS damage to a package of Chips-Ahoy or Oreos or Cameos or Nutter Butters or ... gads! the list goes on. Sadly, I never met a cookie I didn't like. But, if there are only 4 or 6 in the package, the damage is less severe.
Single-serving Pop-tarts.
Zen, I tried that recipe and made those delicious bar cookies. Now I'm gonna have to ride for days to burn all those calories. :p
I dint get to taste them during the ride but one of these days...maybe for christmas.
Was it the photo that got you?
I've had chocolate-covered sunflower seeds.
I'm one of those geeks who will throw a bunch of unshelled seeds in my mouth, crack the shells with my teeth and spit out the shells. I didn't used to like seeds that much until this past summer. My soldiers and I spent three days looking at a flat piece of ground in Yakima and occasionally calling artillery fire. They got me hooked.
My current favorite are Spitz Chili Lime. They are a bit hard to find up here in Seattle so I always buy a few bags when I go down to Portland. The Plaid Pantry down the road from my National Guard Armory carries them.
  Tim Tams:eek:
