On the shoe thing: don't have kids. I went up a full size with the kid. And since I started at a 10, and am now a solid 11, I can't possibly have any more kids or risk only being able to shop at the drag queen stores (not that there's anything wrong with that, and at least I'm in the right city for it).
And your shopping trips would be a lot more fun, too.
HEY... I'm 5'3" (near average height) and wear a 40-41 shoe depending on brand (average size AFAIK). Ya got a problem widdat?
I tried Chacos - the inside soles hurt my feet. Croc's hurt too. Tevas are lovely for me. :)Quote:

Oooh, I just love crocs! My feet are too narrow for anything but the Mary Janes, but I love 'em. I bought the aqua ones for summer and wear them a lot, especially on the sailboat. Great when your feet might get wet. I guess I need a fall/winter pair in a darker color now! :D
They're ugly, yet somehow cute. My mom saw a photo of me in them and instantly loved them, so I know what I am getting her for her fall b-day!

Before I believed that I shrunk, I would try to find another old fashioned doctors scale with the measureing device built in. Does you gym perhaps have one? My guess is the doctor's office mismounted the new device on the wall, but I guess you could always ask them to check it.
You could also check it at home by marking off your height on a wall, and then very carefully measuring it.
Yes, I am going to measure myself in the gym - there are doctor's scales there, and I think they might have the measuring part included (I hope). I did have my DH measure me with a measuring tape against the wall, and it came up 5'1-3/4", but how accurate it was, I don't know. With baseboards and having to have a book on my head, there is room for error there too.Quote:

I'm a size 12. :eek: Was size 11 already in high school, and yes, though I'm now getting shorter, my feet have grown. You're gonna have to clue me in on where to find these drag queen stores, except they may have way more fashionable shoes than my tastes run to, having grown up using clogs with dresses and trainers with pants. I remember getting one of those handwoven, artsy-folksy ankle-length Guatemalen skirts that I wore with a ditto gauzy blouse and silver jewelry because that was the only way I could look dressed up with clogs. I did like the outfit, though, so it didn't make me bitter and frustrated. Never really missed wearing spiky heals and pointy toes; never felt the need to suffer for fashion. Only real problem was finding shoes once in Zagreb when my luggage didn't arrive for 3 days. Women there just aren't my size! :o Luckily a colleague there knew where the drag queen store was (or at least, the store called "Big" -- which I wouldn't have known since it was in Croatian) and I found the comfiest pair of heels I've ever owned. Still wear them when I have to dress up that much, though even they didn't feel all that great after 3 straight days.Quote:
