I'm willing to admit there is worse. I also have lived where it was far better!

WHERE is it better? It is SOOO BEAUTIFUL out there today!
where could it possibly be better than this?
Well, this is the thing. There are a handful of days each year when it is SO great here that nowhere could possibly be better. But, if a person likes sunshine (actual sunshine, the kind that throws shadows and all), and likes hot, dry weather in the summer (85-100 degrees) and cold dry weather in the winter, including SNOW (10-25 degrees)...well, a lot of inland areas fill the bill.
I do love it here in many ways. However, I do really miss actual HOT weather in the summer, and actual cold SNOW all winter. And, I miss low humidity like you get inland, and in the Rockies, and the desert.
Like Winthrop Starfish. I love it there! Have you ever been? It's beautiful with hot summers, cold winters, and practically zero humidity.
And falls! To die for!
Bend, Oregon is another favorite place of mine. Oh and there's Missoula, Montana too.
OK, come on you guys. Spokane's not a bad place for riding either. Yes we do get cold and snow but over all the weather is pretty darn good for riding.
Summers are great, little/no rain, low humidty.
Fall is the very best, cool and sunny.
Winter is a challenge but doable if you're a little nuts.
Spring means layers, and a new adventure every morning.
You all are just going to have to plan more trips to the dry side. :D bikerHen
It is nice today. I'll be going for a walk in a bit so I'll get to enjoy the sun :)
I am a wuss, a Southern California wuss at that. I am ok with waking up at sunrise to ride so it's cool enough. I like being able to go for walks at night and wear shorts. I like the consistency. That all being said, I don't like the brown (SoCal is SO brown) and I don't like heat. I like the idea of snow but lived far too long where I had to shovel it...that and I do NOT do chains well.
I would be perfect in San Diego or Santa Barbara in California. I like the idea of rain but am not used to riding in it yet.
Today though? Is beautiful!!!
You're right BikerHen, Spokane is also great for riding. I may have to bring my bike over there when I visit my son at college. He goes to EWU in Cheney. In fact we will be driving over there in September to help him move back into his dorm. I always want to bring my bike when we go to visit him but never do. I spend most of my time just visiting him. But I see cyclist, especially around Cheney, all the time.
I also would like to do more cycling in Spokane. A few years ago I did the Ride Around Washington from Newport down to Walla Walla, and Spokane was our first stop.
