LOVE the picture, Alpine! I loved Animal as a kid- still kinda do...
Yeah, baby!!! I'm one of those. I didn't get into a hurry on IM day- I got my fill of food, ambiance and course scenery. :p Heck- what am I talking about- I get my fill at every race! I load up on gels, pretzels and post race beer (although I've yet to have a settled enough stomach to handle any- one of the perks of our local races is that one sponsor owns a bar and he provides us with all-you-can-drink suds after the race). :)
Those fast people just don't get to have as much racing fun as we do- they're too busy racing twice as fast as me (and they are working just oh, so hard).
but here's to secretly hoping that in 2 years I can join the speedy club with Wahine, mommelisa, and RNRgirl...
AWESOME!!!That is the word that comes to mind- nice to see all your hard work pay off- am planning the Aug weekend with DH so we can see you fly by in person:)
Can't imagine you will have no one to talk to in penticton but just in case we will be there to shout at you randomly thru the course:)
RM - they took the mountain out this year due to construction so the ride was actually pretty flat. I have yet to download the data from my GPS to see exactly how flat.
As for being a "full value athlete", you are the best, you work harder for longer and that means a lot in my books. I don't think I'd do it if I knew I was going to be out there for 16 to 17 hours!! Good on ya!
Pika - Can't wait!!!
