IFJane just called from the hospital - the surgery went well, she's back in her room and had just eaten lunch. She'll write as soon as she can. Yay!

Wow- up and eating already! woohoo! Hugs (gentle hugs!)
Glad to hear it!
I understand that the recovery time for a vaginal hysterectomy is really quick. So you should be feeling better soon.
:D
KayTee,
Thank you for the update. I am pleased to hear she is up and eating. :)
Glad everything went OK and thank you for your post KayTee.
There isn't much that keeps me from eating!
I am happy to report that I am at home and feeling great. I have a little vague crampiness in my abdomen but nothing ibuprofin doesn't take care of easily. I am definitely tired and weak, but feel amazingly good. My doctor is a marathon runner, so he understands how important physical activity is to me. He told me to listen to my body, to take it slow, but he saw no reason I could not get back on the bike in a week. We'll see....I am keeping my fingers crossed! (But don't tell my director - I don't plan to go back to work until the 14th.......shhhhhhhh!!!!!)
Thank you all again for all your good wishes. They truly helped.
Glad everything went well and you'll be back on the bike soon!!
glad to hear you are doing good!
take care of yourself!
Glad to hear everything went well. T he easier you take it now, the faster the recovery will be. Nothing like a little "recovery" time on the bike before you go back to work ;) (when you're ready, of course).
Taking my doctor at his word, I got on the bike today, one week since my surgery. I put it on the trainer, plugged in the ipod and hopped on for an easy spin. My goal, if all went well, was to spin for 30 minutes. The phone started ringing (my director    ) so I got off, acted like I just woke up, and answered the phone. I realized I had been on the bike for 45 minutes! No pain, no discomfort....just out of shape. I have never been so happy to be on the trainer in my life!
So....next test will be a road ride tomorrow afternoon. I plan to go to the only flat road in Madison County & start from there! yay!!!! :D :D
*HUG* Congrats! Glad the recovery is going so well!
Thank you Kit! If it wasn't happening to me I wouldn't believe it.
That is amazing!! One week post op I was still bleeding like crazy and in a ridiculous amount of pain, my doc told me later it was probably due to having a ton of endometriosis lasered from my bowel up to my liver.
I'm so happy for you that you're up, riding, and feeling great!! :)
IFjane -- that is FANTASTIC you were able to ride the trainer today without a problem!! I am glad I found this thread to hear about it because I was struggling in my ride today and it reminded me about your surgery, struggles, and your plan to get on the trainer today. If all goes well tomorrow and the next few days, you will be riding the Tour de Madison AND the Wilderness Ride!!! :D
:) ... you go girl ... :)
