I agree. :) Smoothies are wonderful and refreshing and I know for me, I consume plenty of forms of protein in my regular daily intake of food.

I like GNC's 50-gram slam. Vanilla is my preferred flavor, though chocolate is nice. I found banana to be too sickeningly sweet.
FYI, since your digestive tract can only digest about 25 gm. of protein at a time, you really get two servings out of one can. It's only 240 calories for 50 gm. of protein. It also has a lot of good nutrients/vitamins in it, too.
I wholeheartedly agree with Han regarding protein intake.
chocolate milk has been shown to be one of the best (if not the best) recovery drink there is.
I put a scoop of protein powder in my sports drink to make a recovery drink. I can't handle that much yogurt or other milk products. I get my protein from TrueProtein.com. You can formulate your own mix if you want or just choose from a bunch of different protein sources. Mine is 75% whey and 25% soy protein.
From Medscape Medical News-
...coauthor Joel M. Stager, PhD, from Indiana University in Bloomington, said in a news release. "Chocolate milk contains an optimal carbohydrate to protein ratio, which is critical for helping refuel tired muscles after strenuous exercise and can enable athletes to exercise at a high intensity during subsequent workouts."

My own study results have shown that chocolate milk is just plain tasty.
My gut isn't always pleased with milk products, so on a whim I bought an envelope of Nutiva hemp protien powder last year. Forgot all about it, and now it's expired.
I think I'll eat it anyway.
Will this stuff make you test positive on a drug test?
I do so want to hear that chocolate milk is the perfect recovery drink - yum;)
I either do a yogurt smoothie that comes in a bottle (anything involving the blender is too complex after riding for me) or chocolate milk made with skim milk, with a pinch of salt.
After this weekend's century ride (my first :) ) I downed my las Gu Gel after I finished and it seemed to make a really big difference - no muscle aches or twitches to report at all. I was very happily surprised.
No. If you read the pkg, it'll say it has either '0' or whatever very low amt. of THC. When they do a 'real' drug test, they're looking for amts beyond 'normal' consumption. I.E. if you ate 20 poppyseed muffins *right* before your test, you *might* come up as positive for opiates. Maybe.
For instance, my lip balm contains "10qg/g or less THC"
No idea what a qg is, though.
