I just bought a Cervelo One Tri bike for $500- 0 miles on it!

Colby I would go get sized- or should I say- FIT!! If you have a good tri shop in your area that is preferable. Lucky for me Trisports.com is located in Tucson, and they have a storefront. I made an appt and was measured and poked at every which way. Since I'm a "thick" girl my size is decieving, but I'm really squat. He said even an xs was pushing it! My limbs are THAT short!! :confused:

As for the difference in riding tri specific.... The first thing I noticed was that the front end is WAY squirrely. That took some getting used to, but I'm fine now. Also I'm on pretty steep geometry so I'm dumped down pretty low in the aerobars. It took awhile to build up the ol neck muscles.
I have picked up ALOT of speed, and I think I am fresher coming off the bike. Tho I am still SLOW! No speed gained in the running legs for this kid I'm afraid! As my coach would say "it's a BIKE not a miracle machine"!! :D

Great deal! To allay your fears, I bought my bike online after having no luck at three bike shops in the state where I lived at the time.

To answer your question about aero up hills ... you wouldn't stay aero going up a climb. You'd use the outside handles or stand up. If you're watching a time trial in the Tour de France, you'll notice the riders don't stay aero there for a climb.

Yeah, tri bikes are not climbers!! If I ever do IMLP (HA!! :D ) I'll prolly use my road bike for that reason alone...

Well, I got the confirmation e-mail that I will be receiving my "vintage Cervelo"... HA! :p Vintage? 2004?

Anyways... so I'm very excited.

Now I'm just worried to heck over the fit of the bike. :(

One lady on my other message board... who is my exact size (height, 5'4" and inseam, 30")... got a 48CM because an "expert" looked her up and down and said she would ride that size. She also fit on a 50 CM Trek 1000... whereas I ride a 52 CM Trek 1000???

Another lady is 5'7" and purchased the 51CM.

So I'm really second guessing myself.

I did some calculations and compared the sizing to my Trek 52CM... and everything on the Cervelo 51CM was a bit smaller than what I ride now. Even the stand over height. I figure if it was smaller... then it should fit... since tri bikes have shorter top tubes, etc.

I would just hate to get this bike, and it be too large for me. I'm probably going to fret over it till I get the bike in my hands and in the LBS to have it fit to me.

Oh well.. thanks for listening!

Once I get my new bike... I will take some pictures! Assuming the bike fits and will be staying with me! :D

His name is Speedy b/c I rode him for the Florida 70.3 this year and he gave me my fastest time ever in a triathlon (avg speed - 21mph!!). The bike just fits me so well. I am 5'1" and ride a 48cm, so don't be worrying about the size. I'm pretty sure the 51 will fit you. If not, I bet you can get a good price for it on ebay!

Getting a new bike is so exciting. Speedy was my last purchase in May (I bought him used from my bike shop) and bought Ruby last October and am already itching for a new bike. I don't need one though b/c I've really topped off what I want in a bike and love them so much. But bike purchasing is fun! Paying the credit card bill, not so much, but worth it!

Keep us updated when you get it and post pics when it arrives!

Yea, they were also moving some older P3's out for $600... but those went very quickly!

You are made me feel better about picking the 51CM... thanks! Yea, I found out that I actually ride a 50CM Trek 1000... BUT the difference in measurements between the 50 and 52... is just the stand over height.

Once I get my baby bumble bee... I will take a picture and post it up. I can't believe I have a tri bike coming!
