Wow, I really didn't think that was spam. I'm still not sure, maybe because I ran across the linked site the other day and it's an information site, like someone personal web project, not a link farm. And the person's first post seemed legit, no links to anything but the Serotta site, and I don't think Serotta is sending spam bots out!
Also, the link was improperly formatted so it 404'd, and in my experience (I've run message boards myself), spam bots always get their links right. ;)
I don't know, Xeney. Stuff just doesn't add up. Blubby has been a member for 3 years but just now chose to post and posted with seemingly contradictory info plus a horde of misspelled words? One post being I love my Serotta because it works for a woman and, BTW, visit my friend's website. The second post is odd in sounding simultaneously like she is knowledgeable and uninformed about builders for women and, BTW, visit my friend’s website. It just feels odd: the grammar, the misspellings, the tone and the pushing of another’s website.
I copied and pasted the link and it worked. The site looks pretty innocuous but the lack of intro, conversation, or previous contribution to the forum, in addition to the promotion of the website makes me uncomfortable and causes me to be suspicious of the website. If both are innocent, I’d like to hear from the owner of the website.
Admit it, SK, you're just jealous because you don't have a good costume yet.
Costume or costum? Yeah, that's me. Always needing to be the fairy princess, NOT!
Don't forget Luna Cycles.
I don't know that I would say it's definitely spam, but it is kind of suspect, for the reasons SadieKate mentioned. And if the link is legit, jeez why can't the poster just come out and say something like "You might want to check out my friend's cool and helpful website"?
All right so maybe I'm just grouchy today because the weather's gorgeous and I'm at work instead of out riding my bike.
The Halloween costumes for bikes is an intriguing idea, though. Hmmm.....
