Congratulations Lise - sounds like a great run.:)
Way to go, Lise
And what an awesome "good omen" to have a dachshund cheerleader!
Way to go, gf... you rock
the logistics of you and Jamie and girl #3 are very interesting. I'm glad it all worked out.
Lise - Congratulations!! I saw the signs indicating LSD would be closed, but didn't realize it was for the half-marathon. Sounds like you did really well... Kudos to you!
:D
Hoooray for you! You are such the studette! You do it all, and yet you never seem to exhibit the crankiness that seems to define my demeanor. :p
I am going to keep this quote in mind...
because shhhhhhhhhhhh....I've been running again, just a little...and thinking about a half mary in the spring. Shhhhhhhhhh!
Congratulations for a job well done. :D
I bet your Dad was there smiling the whole time, feeling very proud.
:D :D :D Oh, boy, am I sore. :D :D :D And happy.
KN--The Gu washed right out. I used Penguin Sport Wash, and both the streak and dot of Gu have entirely disappeared. I was kind of worried about that.
Mimi--yeah, how about that with Jamie and girl #3? In her "inability" to run, that girl was our run angel. BTW, she sprinted ahead of both of us at the end! Jamie did apologize to me later. I was certainly glad I didn't just ditch her to take 5 min off my time.
And yellow....I'm glad you're running a little bit! Sounds like you're feeling that hopefulness that comes after the post-big-event let down.
Quillfred--I thought a lot about my Dad during the race, and of how proud he'd be of me. Thanks.
To bed! :D
Nice going Lise. :) When do we get to see the photos? :p
Congratulations, Lise! That crowd must have been awesome. We had about 600 in our half marathon a week ago and there were probably a few hundred spectators along the course here and there but every cheer and word of encouragement helps a LOT. Plus the runners were cheering each other on. The course was out and back and the guy in fourth place was saying, "good job - you guys are doing great" as he passed my group while he was returning and we were going out. You can't help but be encouraged when you hear that from someone out front. It helps no matter who says it.
Deb
Great report, Lise! I am so proud of you.
That mini daschund - and the crowds - must have been inspiring! I agree with Yellow - that is an inspiring thought - races v. training.
great job lise! way to go!!!! :D
You are awesome Liz! Great report - I really enjoyed reading, and seeing your pictures. :)
How amazing is it to have people that are brave enough to tell us of their goals, and then share their experience so that we can be inspired by their journey.
Congratulations Liz. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Sorry... Congratulations "Lise!"
