Does anyone know what the weather is like late Nov/early dec? I'd like to ride the dam bridge, but I am booked until then. I want to take my new Thule hitch rack and head south, maybe over Thanksgiving. Arkansas is a beautiful state and apparently the people down there have a great sense of humor. Can't wait! Just need to know what attire...
Anyone know where I can get some dam gloves??? Okay, okay, I loved all of the "Vacation" movies...

It can be quite warm around Thanksgiving. It all depends. Central Arkansas doesn't really get winter that often--mostly just gray skies for several weeks. When there is precipitation, it is rarely cold enough to make snow or to make it stick for very long. There are often icy conditions, though, but mostly in January and February.
I'm usually at my in-laws in Conway for T'giving, and they usually drag me shopping the day after. I can remember very few of those days with adverse weather conditions. Cold, maybe, but it never stopped them from dragging me out!
I think you'll be able to ride it, no problem, with appropriate cold (40-50 degrees) weather gear. Have fun!

Bdb
I actually had the BDB all to myself this evening for the first time. Monday group ride pulls out from the old Gator's parking lot at 6:00 p.m. Well, it was raining all day today and this evening, and I was apparently the only feller crazy enough to go out riding in it. Roads were wet, and the trail slick with fallen leaves, as well as a nasty little headwind all the way out to the turnaround point at I-430. Hit the bridge just about twilight, and it was pleasant to simply get some gear and power up there for once without worrying about running over somebody. Up top, you were right in the mist and fog. Rolled out to the turnaround point, then turned on the headlights and headed back just as the rain picked up pretty good. Took it easy through the woods, saw seven deer, and rolled on back down the river. Passed one rider on an MTB down by the dog park, and maybe five runners along the whole route. 22.38 miles on the meter, averaging 14.8 mph. In spite of the rain, it was a good ride after a long day...
