OK, OK, OK ! I'll start training, um, tomorrow.
OMG what have I done.
But I take solace in the fact that crazier things have been done in the pursuit of cool cycling clothing. :D

OK, Cali, you're off the hook.
I on the other hand wilt in temperatures above 80 degrees.
I also melt in the rain, though  (cue the Wicked Witch theme song)
i don't like cold rain.... (again... BRRRRRRRRRRRR) i don't mind a shower in the summer.... it feels good! but cold rain.. ICK!
ya.... i don't get too many sub 80 rides in spring and summer! we've been starting out our weekend rides at below 80, if we get out early enough... but once the sun is really up.... the heat is on! i think the 80's is probably my favorite temps to ride in... upper 70's... i've decided i don't like the heat this year either... but it's ride in it or not ride
(brie thanx you for letting me off the hook.... she pouts as is when we leave to ride.... sometimes i hear her cryingn at the door when i stop at the end of the driveway to get my edge, etc all set http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/206.gif.... do ya think she knows it's breaking my heart to hear that??)
Jo - I will ride it with you. When is it??? OMG did I just say that.:D :DQuote:

There are 3 (or 4?) brevet series that I'm aware of in Northern California in 2007. We surely can fit a 200K in before you head back Down Under.
SF Randonneurs: Their 2007 Schedule isn't posted yet, but the 200K has traditionally been held in (mid?) January. gahhhh

Santa Rosa:Their 2007 schedule isn't posted yet, but last year's 200K was in early March.

Davis Bike Club: they didn't have a brevet series in early 2006 but they started it up again this fall, and will be putting on the full series again in 2007. Their 200K is scheduled for March 10, so perhaps they're combining forces with Santa Rosa?

Santa Cruz Randonneurs: The 200K is tentatively scheduled for Sat. March 17.

Just a little comment about the 2 Davis 200k brevets as they are both at (potentially) nicer times of year weather-wise. The 200k scheduled for 9/30 will be significantly easier than the one on 3/10. 4,000 ft of climbing compared to almost 7,000.
