I think I'm getting a little too well fed on the Well Fed recipes!
B: 1 egg, 1 piece wg toast with butter, coffee, 1/2 glass of oj
S: 1 banana
L: beef vege soup, 1 piece wg bread with butter
D: salmon, small helping roasted potatoes, large helping broccoli, 1 glass chardonnay
Home sick today...
B: shepherd's pie with eggs on top
L: salmon chowder (very simple to make), blueberries
D: Probably the rest of the salmon chowder, a small salad...and more frozen blueberries. I feel the need for fruit but I feel too bad to head out to the store.
Ugh. Feel better, Catrin!
(and do you have a recipe for the salmon chowder?)
This is the recipe that I loosely followed as a guide. I used sweet potatoes rather than white potatoes (I don't do nightshades) and was my first attempt at anything like a "fish soup". It came out rather tasty! I cut the broth in half, only 2 slices of fresh side rather than a full pound of bacon, and a couple of other changes since I didn't want to make a large amount of it. I did use a full can of salmon.
I hope you feel better soon, Catrin!!
Thanks! I have some canned salmon to use up.
*skims recipe*
That's a lot of bacon! I think I'll be cutting that down a bit...
Think I can use milk or something higher-fat (but still dairy) in place of the coconut milk? I might fuse this with a second salmon chowder recipe (both halved, because I don't want to be eating this forever), and perhaps add some kale. I think I have everything except the bay leaf and cream, and I need to go to the grocery store anyway (nearly out of garlic!).
Hope you feel better, Catrin. Being sick sucks. I'm still coughing!
B: egg whites, kale, avocado, chicken slices
S: walnuts (handful) before yoga-lates class and a 15 minute run/walk warm up on the treadmill
L: sweet potato, sauteed with tomatoes and more chicken, an apple
S: slice of Ezekial raisin bread
D: I met GLC for dinner! mixed salad with lots of veggies, oil and vinegar, swordfish, 1/2 a sweet potato, broccoli
Ate 2 squares of dark chocolate when I got home
B: WG toast with butter, coffee
S: 1/2 sammy with turkey and slice of swiss cheese, mayonaise b4 tennis
L: bowl of beef vege soup after tennis
D: two chicken tacos, rice, 1 beef
2 pieces dark chocolate
Still sick today, and Dr. convinced me that I should take the rest of the week off work - and have done so. NCIS marathon (DVR) & reading
B: scrambled eggs with mushrooms, a slice of fresh side and coffee
L: I really didn't feel like cooking, so I repeated breakfast - added strawberries and no coffee
stopped by the store for some veggies on the way home from Dr. and pharmacy
D: Planning to roast some chicken, broccoli and brussel sprouts... That sounds about as easy as I can do it while getting some nutrition in my body.
Take it easy, Catrin.
handful of almonds before boot camp. Forgot my almond milk and it made a huge difference in the way I felt... bad!
B: 3 slices low salt ham in a corn tortilla sauteed with sprinkle of cheddar and salsa
L: left over "Pad Thai," an apple, nuts and cranberries
S: meat and spinach muffin
D: DH made pork chops marinated in something way too salty, with mushrooms, peppers, onion, and half a sweet potato, half a glass of red wine, 2 squares dark chocolate
I've used up almost all of the meat I bought for Well Fed recipes... except some lamb. I will be cutting back on the red meat for a while.
Just curious if anyone else was completely addicted to chobani Greek yogurt? I fell in love with their flavors. Their pineapple and pear are awesome!
I eat the plain Chobani. It's good.
I can't eat flavored yogurt anymore, just too sweet. I put fresh blueberries in the yogurt, if I want a sweet taste.
Chobani Peach is my favorite. For some reason, it doesn't seem as sweet as some of the others
B: Piece of wg toast, butter, coffee
s: 1 banana
L: 2 tacos, 1/4 of a big dr. pepper
D: 1 burrito, leftover chicken, beans, rice, lettuce, salsa, 1 glass of chardonnay
