I think Wahine's dog is asleep ;) :D. And the British short hair is so cute and so innocent looking!!
Ah, I always love the post your pet threads, because to know me is to know my pup.
This is Asta (from the classic b/w Thin Man movies), a border collie/blue heeler mix. Smart, sweet, surprisingly mellow indoors. She is a rescue, as was my previous beloved Aussie mix. We're her 4th (and permanent) home - not sure what happened with person #1 that got her to the SPCA, but person #2 adopted her and returned her the next day because 'she seemed sad'. In my opinion, it was because she knew person #2 was a loser who didn't deserve her, but it was more likely just getting oriented ON TOP OF having a respiratory infection and running a fever. Family #3 adopted her and kept her 6 months, but she and their in-the-household-first cats never made a lasting peace accord, so they felt it was best and fairer for all if she found a cat-free environment and put her on a Border Collie rescue board, which I happened to be looking at after our Aussie mix died. The rest, as they say, is history.

Chloe would like to add that she has a FB page
I just saw this! I love nothing more than to talk about Fosco, so I jumped at the chance.
When we adopted Fosco, his shelter name was Hooch. He didn't respond to that at all but would come running if you made clucking sounds or other hardish sounds. So when we brought him home, I told my BF (who had never had a dog) that he should name him but that the name had to have a hard sound in it. BF is a HUGE Tolkien fan, so he picked up a copy of one of the Lord of the Rings series that has a family tree in the back of it. That's where he found Fosco. Fosco was the grandfather of Frodo, Uncle to Bilbo.
He learned his new name very quickly. :D
And that is the story of how Hooch became Fosco.

Haven't been here in over a year (dead home computer that I haven't been able to replace yet) so I'm abusing the one at work right now :p
This is Ghost, the abandonned cat who adopted Chloe & I two years ago. He and Chloe spend way too much
time chasing each other through the apartment but will sleep side by side, doing a darned good job of taking over my bed, at night.
Best buds!:D
Ok, I'm an infrequesnt poster, and may have posted these before, but here is my crew, starting with the dogs.
First, the old man, Pogo the wonder dog. He turns 17 next month and is in failing health. I will be devistated when we lose him.

Here's the rest.
Sweet kitty Squirt (snuggling with Casey)

Charlie, the obnoxious parrot. Quite the talker, but has a bit of mean in him.
Attachment 15507
Last but not least, Piper, my horse, his broad back carries me across the fields, and his sweet disposition and generous nature make him my therapist.

What a brood you have Ja Da Dee! I'm sorry that Pogo is in failing health though. It's so hard to see them decline and to eventually say goodbye.
They're all gorgeous. But, oh, would I love to have that horse!
Meet Pusley. :)
