Maxwell and Jack are beautiful, and so well groomed. My English Cocker Spaniel is a complete scruff like me. Doesn't help that I do his hair myself so he looks like a muppet. Still my boy though. He's a blue roan but greying now as he's 10+
And I love the radiator belly's eyepatch!
I also groom Moo (don't tell Maxwell I called him that) and Jack. That being said, they are pretty wash and wear. No haircuts.
English cockers are beautiful dogs. I am such a spaniel fan!!! Your little muppet man is loved, I can tell and I bet he thinks his haircut is fabulous!! Gotta love our old guys. Maxwell is almost 7 and Jack is 5 1/2.
Hehe Mica looks quite comfortable in her "cooling off" position. Too cute.
This is when they were under a year old

They are now 8 but they look the same as when they were three.

Here's the birthday boy! This morning he shared a celebratory can of tuna with is feline housemates, and this evening they'll be having a catnip party.
Calling today his birthday is kinda arbitrary-- his mother was one of our many street cats. But just before Halloween 2001, something happened to his mother. So one day, this scrawny, starving kitten walked up to me and my dog in our yard, and said "help!" Moses came into the house, had a big meal and some water, got hissed at by my cat, sniffed by the dog, and never left. The vet said he was born at the end of August, and he might have died of starvation in a few days if I hadn't taken him in.
Now he's a very big guy, and he's going to make sure he never risks starvation again. For a fixed male, he has strong maternal instincts-- when Joe joined the household a few years ago, he still wanted to nurse. This little kitten would latch onto Moses' non-functional nipples and go to work, and Moses would just lie there with a blissed-out look in his eyes...
Happy Birthday, Moses!
And, Beth, your cats are gorgeous. What a pair!
Awwww...... Happy Birthday sweet boy. What a sweet face!
So today I adopted a 14 week old kitten, who remarkably looks like Moses in the post above. I'll get a new photo tomorrow, maybe. She's currently in the guest bedroom, trying to get settled. Tomorrow I'll let Calypso and .... meet. Her name from the shelter is Yelena - which I think needs to change.
She and her litter mates were turned in to a no-kill shelter, then fostered for 4 weeks in the Pets for Prisons program. I have a log from her Foster Mom. She seems shy, is usually hiding when I've gone in to check on her, but I can coax her out after a couple of minutes for some petting and play.
Then when I get home the organizational part of my brain kicks in and I remember that I'm supposed to go on a business trip the week after Labor Day. oops. Have to make boarding arrangements for Calypso and Her - or may leave New Kitty at home and ask my neighbors to check on her and just board Calypso (we still have that pooping outside the litter box problem :(, so I don't want her to be left home when I'm gone). New Kitty is a proper lady, and uses the litter box. ;)
Quick search, and it's a Russian name that means "sun ray" or "shining right" if one believes what one finds on Google.
Still not sure the name will be kept, but she does have a pretty face.
Well, my rooster Terrence got picked off by an Owl on Thursday morning. I woke at 4:50 in the morning to horrible chicken distress noises and when I came out he was gone.
RIP Terrence! We shall miss you, your silence, and your emo 'comb' over. ;)

That's horrible! Lot of people are losing their backyard chicken lately...:(
Sorry to hear about your chicken. My BIL loses his from time to time to hawks. Once, one missed the chicken and hit a window in his barn. He had a perfect outline of hawk dust on his window! (I think the bird managed to fly away).
I hope this works....but our two kitties love to play fetch with a fuzzy little ball, we call their "binky". Zoe is a bit better at the concept of fetch-and-return, but big, bulky Paris sometimes joins in when he isn't just out to spoil the fun.
Here they are, at a successful round of fetch (hyperlink to Photobucket videos - first one is about 2 minutes long):

And Zoe is sometimes easily distracted by dangly things...in this case, the wrist strap on my camera (this one is shorter - also a link to a video):

I'm a newbie here but thought I would share the 'kids' with everyone.
Meet Astro! Hes a real sweetie. Then... theres Georgio. He loves hubby, but hates me, unless I have food and he wants a bite. In which case he will fly to me and sit on the back of my chair until I give him some, then he leaves! Otherwise he just bites me. :)
I've never seen a corgi with an all white face, what a handsome boy!
