(and that evil one that thomson keeps talking about at mile 97! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!) but i digress!
i predict.. that you will be done with the ride in about 9 hours! that INCLUDES your stops (unless you stop for looooooong periods of time at the rest stops!
i don't know how much i'll be smilin' before the ride... cuz i KNOW what i'm getting myself into this year!
I am hoping to be in and out of the rest stops too.
From what I am hearing that is the best way to do it, not to spend too much time at the rest stops.
Is this right?
i can ONLY speak for ME... and yes... i much prefer to get in and out... i do NOT like long long rest stops! my longest stop is usually lunch cuz it takes a few extra minutes to eat a sandwich!Quote:

when i got my flat on palomar and was stopped for too long fixing it... i HATED getting back not he bike... my legs were SCREAMING cuz they were tightening up on me!
you need to do what works for you... i can't tell you quick stops or long stops... only you can decide what works best for you!
(how's that for a non-committed answer!)
Well, see????? We'll be done about the same time!!! :pQuote:

Have fun, and ride lots for me!!!!
Jana

Hi Girls!
Well the Cool breeze is one week away!
Are we still planning on meeting at the registration area around 6:15 am??
I heard that it gets crazy in the morning, so plan on getting there early!!
I am nervous, kind of!
Look for me, the redhead w/ the silver/pink bike....
Tracy, have your cell phone on, I plan on calling you early :)
Brandy, Cali, Pam, whomever else is driving up in the morning, give yourself
lots of extra time!
See you all there!!

OUCH! I just saw this Jana. I hope that you heal quickly!! If you're looking to sell your registration, there are a few people at Bike Forums who are looking to buy. I could get you in touch with them.Quote:

my first ever century i did in 8 hours (and i'm not fast... not sandbagging either).... it had about 8 sag stops and lunch was WAY crowded.... and i still managed to eek out 8 hours riding alone for the most part! the elevation on my first century and this one is about the same! so you ALL would be safe in leaving when the iciness (61 degrees! EEK!) of the morning wore off a bit... say 7 a.m..... you'd all finish by about 3!
however.... that's just my opinion.... and you know what they say about opinons... what they are like and that we all have them! http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/89.gif
i'm sure you'll all be gone after the ride by the time i get in.... if you are starting that early! hopefully some peeps will start later and i can see you at the bar b q after the ride!
but most important.... have a good time!!!!!!!!!! and enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!
How long do you think CB will take you caligurl? While I would like to start as early as possible, I'm riding up with chimivee and voltman from BF, and I know that they both hate early mornings! :p We haven't agreed on a departure time from OC yet.
last year it took me 9 hours 23 minutes RIDE time.... they have a lot of rest stops... so add at least an hour if not 1.5 depending on how long the pottie lines are! and that ups it to about 11 hours total time give or take (i won't be surprised if it takes me longer than 11... i really wish i could remember total time from last year! that's what's nice about the edge.... i get both!)
