Oh g** no, I'm nowhere near that strong.

I'm nervous about this ride but I did it years ago. They truck our gear to Cassini Ranch which is near the end of the Russian River. The ride is put on by the Positive Peddlers. It's called the Jonathon Pon 2-day ride. In the past years they limited it to the Pos Peds. this year they decided to open it up to all the ALC riders. I keep telling them "I'm a training ride leader, not a registered rider"

Maybe they'll wake up and kick me out and I'll have a convenient excuse.

I hear Shadon is doing this ride too?

I think Jobob and Leebob also have one of the nicest "roll out the door and ride" backyards, near ACT.

Well, you'll be passing my "back yard" early in the ride, in Mill Valley. But I feel like your whole route is probably in my cycling backyard as that's where I do 80% of all my riding!

What's your route? Are you going through Freestone/Occidental, or straight up the coast??

I love overnight rides. They should have more.

I have the babies. One is bigger, darker, braver. One is smaller, yellower, more timid. I think I will name her Buttercup. I had a big old yellow box turtle about 20 years ago by that name. I'm leaning toward Koko (because he's kind of a dark choc color) for the other.

I had a male Siamese, half of a pair, named Koko, as in Ko-Ko and Yum-Yum from "The Mikado." Maybe I have run out of original names. Ho Ho and Ding Dong just didn't fit. So then maybe I should name the other one Yum-Yum.

My Yummy cat was sweet, small, cross-eyed, and just slightly "not all there." All my other pets gave her special treatment. Drazil, the three-foot long free-range iguana, who viciously chased the other cats, would allow her to sit in the sun in the windowsill and nuzzle him.

Got my welcome letter for 3-State 3-Mountain. I wish there wasn't 50% chance of rain. I will have to _force_ myself to take pictures. It is going to be so beautiful. I hate how I carry my camera all the time, but never want to stop.

Right now Buttercup is asleep in a pile of hay, and KoKo is asleep under a hollow log on a heating pad. KoKo climbed the pile of hay to the top of the hollow log. He is very strong and brave.

I think I finally like Chardonnay. The oak used to really put me off, but I found a couple I liked, lately the Covey Run. Tonight I am going to taste a new one, the Fetzer.

The eagle's live feed is down. The forum is in a frenzy.

Awww, your babies sound so sweet. And I'm glad to hear there's kindness in the heart of an giant iguana for a ditzy kitty. This thread is a hoot! You learn the best stuff here. We tri-girls have it good. Think anybody else is going to notice that where most threads have 6, 14 replies, this thread has over 200? :) L.

I like the Fetzer. KoKo is out wandering about. I have eaten a _very_ good dinner of jambalaya and sausage, out on my patio with Dillbird, reading Runner's World about some run in some wilderness in Idaho. Life is so good!

I think KoKo needs to learn about evening patio-sittings/crow watchings/ wine tastings with me and Dillbird. Since he's having trouble going to sleep for the night. Buttercup is more like me- out like a light, very early.

I wonder if KoKo has ever seen grass, in the wild.

The live eagle feed is back! It wasn't a conspiracy after all!! I hate how "trolls" post untrue things on there, to get everyone upset. The bird wouldn't be on the nest if the egg was gone. Get on the clue bus.

FWIW, I don't expect a fruitful outcome anymore. I'm sad that they are apparently beyond their child-bearing years. Still- when I didn't know any better, it was very exciting. I'm so in awe of how Nature works.

Didn't it say on the webpage that the second egg was due to hatch sometime this week? So - I think there's still hope.

The story also brought tears to my eyes. That was really nice. I kept reading, knowing where it was going, but eagerly reading on. Thanks again!

Congrats on KoKo and Buttercup. You sound like a proud new mama. When do we get to see pics? Or have you enjoyed the wine too much.

We're having jambalaya and sausage tonight, too. Zatarains and turkey kielbasa (the kielbasa was cheap). Small Knot won't eat red meat, hence the turkey (and chicken, TJ's cajun chicken sausage is the best).

Today I bought turkey Spam, and we sang Monty Python's "Spam" song all through the grocery store. Small Knot swears he won't eat it. I have ways...;)
