TriMom - I love your Zoe! She's adorable! Jimmy and George do look a lot a like!!! WOW! Those herding dogs... Although Jimmy is about 60 pounds, so he's a little bigger!

Bikerchic - Aussies are fabulous dogs. I would never have another breed, but they require a lot of training and socialization as puppies! Actually any of the herding breeds are fabulous companions. Your Pascal (great name) is sooo cute! Enjoy him! He's all legs right now! Give him a big sloppy puppy kiss from Jimmy and me!

thanks rij! she is super sweet. unless you're male and bending over to pet her. then she turns into dragon dog (hackles up) and barks and jumps in your face! :eek: hence the reference to neurotic. she's getting better though. :)

thanks! she eats wellness and gets lots of exersize! it is obviously working for her- she was dull with dandruff when we picked her up at the pound!

Just this morning my SO and I started broaching the subject of getting a new fur baby. Our beloved Border Collies have been gone for four years now and since we bought a new house this summer we're both starting to think about how wonderful a new pup would be.

I know what you mean. We lost our first dog, another Keeshond named Griffin, about 4 years ago. We had Ollie at the time, but still struggled for a long time with getting another dog. It just took awhile before we were ready, and even then, we couldn't get another Keeshond, because it felt like there was no way the new pup could measure up (Ollie was kinda grandfathered in ;) )

ditto! I had more fun socializing this pup than I ever imagined possible. Now all I have to do is tell her to get in the car, and off she goes. She just knows we're going to have fun if we're going in the car! LOL

T Rex is a 4.5 lb yorkie who tries his darndest to boss my german shepherds around. He expects to be treated like royalty. :rolleyes: :)

I entered two photos on August 28, 2008 (right now they are at the top of the second page of entries) -- the two sleeping beagles and the two sitting beagles (the photo I previously posted to this thread). My babies -- Snoopy and Lucy! :D

My other fav (besides my own, of course!) is the one of the two boxers.

I'm thinking we are pretty lucky to have our critters in our lives, cool beans!

Here's my Ruthie. She's a schizo 2 year old calico. My old neighbor's cat had just had kittens and they were moving. The new place would only let them keep one pet, so if I didn't take her, she would have gone to the pound. The thing was, I was deathly allergic to cats, and to that point had never really been a fan of them. Well a month of constant sneezing and wheezing finally ended, and she has become a source of constant love/frustration/amusement for my entire family. Everyone that has met her has said they've never seen a cat like her. I don't know if that's a good thing or not:p And the name Ruthie was in honor of my friend who passed away 3 days before they gave my kitty to me.

The first picture is the day I got her. She was so tiny! The second picture was last week, in the spot I've been finding her when I come home. The last picture is also last week, when I picked her up from my aunt's. She makes herself very comfortable wherever she goes:rolleyes:

All these pet pictures make me wish I had a pet! All we've got is a beta fish, Mr. Fishy, in a 10-gallon tank. I know, Mr. Fishy, real creative...but it's easier than Leviathan, which is what my DH picked out.:p

I have a new puppy! My partner and I got her a couple of days ago, and we're still waiting for inspiration on a name. She's a long-haired dachshund, and she'll be on the small side when she grows up. She's about 5 months old. These were from the first day, when she was still trying to figure out what I was up to, exactly. "Uh, who are you again??"

This is an updated picture of Chili, the senior dog. He's 11 now. He still thinks the puppy is a pest, but they're starting to wag their tails at each other. We have hope. He loves his soft blanket...

Oh, and the cat. His name is Jazz. He's about 14 years old now. When we walk the two dogs, Jazz comes along. He's friends with some of the other dogs in the neighborhood, so it works out, but it must be a sight for the neighbors - two dogs on leashes, and a cat following behind. :p

That's a big kitty!:eek: When you go for your walks, do you put him on a leash, or does he just follow along? I don't trust Ruthie outside unless she's attached to me, but it's torture trying to get the harness on her! But it'd be so nice to take her for walks.

Dachshund, what about Sophie? She has beautiful eyes. :)

NoNo - He's actually pretty thin, but I admit this picture makes him look like he has a good spread going. He just walks along behind us. We've never tried a leash. If he sees anything to worry about, he ducks under a plant or something. With the puppy the walk is pretty short. The cat stays inside when the big dog goes on his marathon training walks. ("Big" is, of course, a relative term.)

Sundial, that's a nice name! The trick is to stay away from traditional human names, which is my GF's rule. I've already been through all of my favorite women's names, and they were rejected. It'll have to be some reference to her dark colors, I suspect.

My neighbors have a cat who goes on walks with them around the neighborhood. But in cat fashion, she follows about 30 feet behind, and sneaky....darting from parked car to parked car, and shrub to shrub..like we're not supposed to know she's there..."stalking" them! :rolleyes::p Very funny.

Our cat does the "stealth" routine, too. But the pup is fascinated by the cat, so she has to stop periodically to see what the strange looking "dog" is doing.

Very cute pup! She looks as if she has a very expressive little face! I love puppies!! Enjoy her!! And Chili is quite the handsome lad, too. Jazz - well, he knows what he's worth. Love his eyes.

Beautiful dachs! My favourite small dog. You could always call her Moofle, as in "aaaw, who's a moofle lil dog today then...!" :p ;)

Meet Sagan, the newest member of the house. She is an Australian Shedder, er, I mean Australian Shepherd. She is twelve weeks old and an absolute sweetheart. She joins Jack, our seven year old Shedder who already rules the house, any and all Frizbees and tennis balls that he can get his jaws on. Although, by the looks of it, we may have a new Frizbee dog!

When I was at the SPCA hospital this week, there was an Australian Shepherd there. He was really sweet, and I was tempted to take him home, but alas, it's still too soon. One blue eye and everything. Beautiful dogs!

My cat came out with the dog and me as well. Now that Chevy's gone, Morley's having a hard time adjusting to his routine being disrupted. He's despondent in the mornings and at night when he came out with us. I've taken to just taking him out on his own, and I get some odd looks when they realize I'm walking a cat! :)

I finally got around to taking pictures of my newest dog, AJ, along with his sister Ruby. I adopted AJ in October. He's 10, mostly deaf, and has heart and blood pressure issues, but is energetic and very sweet. It's a little tricky having two deaf dogs, but it's quite peaceful when the doorbell rings--no mayhem!

Here they are begging for treats. AJ's the black one, Ruby's white.
