I'm not even thinking so much about the ride fee, as the travel costs and lodging - all for one bike ride (granted the most epic ever) - when for that amount of money you could really have a great vacation and explore the country in a less crazy fashion. If I want to ride my bike in France again, I want to go to the Alps and Provence, not the area where PBP goes.

I would do that 1200k that is closer to here so I didn't have to travel so much. We'll do 1200, both of us, one of these days.

Oh my, you ladies have been busy today! And me wasting time riding my bike when I could have been reading about queefing.... What a choice!

Is there any way to add on 50km to my Cateye computer? I forgot the darn thing when I went out on my ride and I'm kind of anal when it comes to recording my km. Now my Bikejournal page and my computer are out of sync...

I tried using the Coconut butter today as a chamois cream. Seemed to work ok but I think my crotch smells like a Pina Colada...:eek:

I loved watching Floyd this morning. Worth getting up early....

We have a heat wave just beginning. Supposed to be up to 41-42 degrees by the weekend. Not sure what that is in US-ease but I know it's over a 100. I think I'm going to have to plan to climb Anarchist Mountain (or Antichrist Mt as I like to call it) at 5 am next week so I don't get too overheated. I may have to do it alone since Erik's not big on getting up and at 'em that early.

Someone please tell me that the extra 3 lbs I've gained in the past 2 weeks is all muscle..... :rolleyes:

It's going to be over 100 degrees in my part of California (Kaleefornia, to Ms. Governator :D ) I'll probably have to find some movies to watch, use their air conditioning.

I work in downtown San Francisco, and I decided today that I'm over those Start Trek looking bluetooth earphones. I thought they looked cool at first, but now people look incredibly geeky wearing them. I've only seen one that's small enough that it doesn't look like really ugly jewelry. So there.

Can you say torrential rain? Standing water in the yard, the thunder just made the kitchen light fixture fall off, and now the electricity went out so I probably can't post...(We need the rain...)

The water is up to the rim of my truck wheel now...I was going to go out and play in the rain, because it looked fun, so I took off my pajamas, and put on different pajamas, that I didn't care if they got wet, and took off my watch, and put a towel in front ot the back door, and stepped out onto the back steps, and was instantly drenched and frozen!! And came back in. Bad idea!!

Yeah, the Pisco...I quit that stuff many years ago, but have fond memories from Lima. They also drank beer mixed with Coke, which is not as repugnant as it sounds, according to my memory...which may have gotten quite fuzzy by now...

Hey! Welcome back!

Seriously, touring around France does not suck. Watching so much of these great places on TV right now really makes me want to go. I may as well start listening to the language CDs again, just in case some miracle occurs and we can go next year....

And PBP, I don't know - if I'm in France I really would rather drink a lot of wine and eat cheese. None of which is endurance cycling fare.

Yeah.. I've been seriously bit by the touring bug. Nova Scotia was just SO cool, even riding in the rain doesn't suck when you've got the right gear on and you're not camping that night. :D

Probably won't get to go again this summer. Work is getting busy for Thom and I've got a little thing called a double to get ready for. I'm thinking I may just go ride parts of the course during the week, so I can spend the weekends with my honey. I think pulling 55 - 70 pounds around for two and a half weeks has been good training though. I swear I got stronger as the trip went on.

I tacked this onto one of my replies to the saying hi thread, but I know a lot of the Seattle gals look here so repost:

BTW - through the end of track season (last week in August) I will be riding out to Marymoor every Wednesday going one way to the velodrome. (the hubby is announcing track racing). If anyone is interested in joining me I leave my house around 5:30 / 6 which puts me on the BG about 10 or 15 min later. Spectating is free on Wednesdays and I could give you a ride home if you wanted to stay and watch the races (its dark by the time racing is over - around 10pm). Rain cancels the track racing so I don't go if it is rainy.

My teef hurt. I went in for my 6 month cleaning, for some reason I had an unusual amount of tartar.

Ow!

I hate the polish stuff, and the sound of the scraping. I also hate sitting there forever with my mouth open...

I don't like going to the dentist. I know I've got a 6 month appointment coming up, too... :(
