So, we started out with our first cat, Velnix. She has since crossed over the rainbow bridge. We were so distraught without her in the house that we had 3 foster kitties living with us by the end of the week. Two of them still live with us - Ivy & Rowan.
Before losing our kitty we had adopted a dog from a shelter, a "pit-bull" (I won't get on my soap box yet:)) - Her name is Zemuda.
Then we adopted a tiny black kitten that rode home in the engine of my brothers truck - Lasher (not so small any more!!)
Somewhere along the way we adopted a kitten from a neighbor who also passed over the rainbow bridge (no pic:() - her name was Izyne
Then there was Bug, a dog we sent to my parents house to live when our neighbor found her as a very small puppy in the middle of the street on her morning walk. She ended up moving back to our house last October.
Then there was Xilev --- She was a tiny kitten out in the cold. When we found the people she belonged to they said "it's ours but we're keeping her outside." I guess the disgust showed on my face b/c the mother said very hatefully "bring it in!!!" When she was out again a few days later in the ice and sleet I must have held the door open for a little too long b/c she moved in and hasn't moved out:p
We love each of them very much and keep telling ourselves we are at full capacity but we are in search of a larger home and have discussed adopting maybe, possibly, just one more....!!!!
You can read a little about Ivy, Zemuda & Rowan at the following website http://www.blue-hawk.org/happyhomes.html
It's Ivy, Rowan, Lasher, Xilev and Bug (The one that lived w/my parents but moved in with us last October)
Here is Zemuda - Our very scary "pit-bull"
Sorry about posting 2x's - something about reaching my limit for attachments :p Oopsies!!
OMG, that's so funny I have to post mine in response. This is Boots, rottweiler-boxer. Same exact expression... must be a rott thing. (Crappy picture, from my phone) ;)
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...121007_001.jpg
There is nothing like the expression on a rottie that is humiliated. Priceless.
KVIXON: BTW... that doesn't look like any pit bull to me!
And MORLEY: Looks exactly like my "Smudge" kitty -- she also is a Hit by car head trauma girl / and she is just like velcro to a lap! Maybe they know each other!
I just brought poor Mac (my 11 yr black lab) home from the vet's (yes... I know I'm a vet, but I don't want to work on her!). She had her teeth cleaned and 5 lumps (all fatty ones) removed. She is SO tired and out of it. Poor thing. I have her burrito'd in her blankets and even gave her a pillow. She has bald spots EVERYWHERE -- neck, shoulder, throat, front leg and belly. hopefully it will all grow back in before winter!
She's probably not full American Pit bull Terrier but that's what she appeared to be when we adopted her and before she put on weight (she's working on her weight). She has the 'pitty' smile when she's smiling. You should see her when she sprints and her ears are blown back and her tongue is hanging out!!! She's also a solid red color with a red nose.
We often get propositioned while walking her by owners of male "red nose pit's" who want to mate their dogs with her....It's really weird. Due to her weight (which she is oblivious to) we are often asked when her puppies are due and if they can have one.
Because of possible legislation in our city and legislation in other cities we have her listed as a "medium sized mixed breed" with our vet. We fight Breed Specific Legislation here (Oklahoma city) because we don't want our dog to be put down b/c she "looks like" a pit-bull which is what unfortunately happens due to the language used in current and proposed legislation. :(
Either way, Zemuda is our baby and we love her as we do all of our babies.
Some of my pets :D

Jade, our dog
Fish Lady, I think your fishfotos look quite good. that must be a saltwater tank, yes?
Beautiful.
I have to say I love looking at all the pets. I always look at this thread :D
DH messaged me this picture today. This is Albert. We have five rescue cats, Albert is the latest. We got him a bit over a year ago. I remember posting here because I didn't possibly think we could handle yet another cat!!! He was a pound cat and was/is young; he is also about 25 lbs. He isn't fat. This is Albert in a box that housed a case of beer. A case...just to put it in perspective. He takes up the whole box!!!
I don't know if it's just our cats but we can buy them all sorts of toys and what they want are the boxes from Costco. I don't get it. They are contrary beasties.
Albert fit in a box! He looks quite svelte in there.

First time trying to post a picture so not sure if this will work. But I love seeing everyone's pets so thought I would add mine.
This is Max. We adopted him from a family who just could not keep up him as they worked long days and had to crate him all day. He is an absolute joy
OK I will have to try that again later when my computer savvy husband is home

OK I figured it out. This is my Max.
Hello , do you have Prince Albert in a can?
I always look at this thread too:)
Max is adorable
RIDENREAD: Max is adorable! He looks like loads of fun.
FISHLADY: Those fish pictures are great, too -- what an elaborate tank that looks like compared to my silly 25 gallon one that I had, with plastic "plants" stuck into colored pebbles! Very cool. And your dog looks hilarious grinning like that!
KVIXON: I just followed your website to read about your adopted kitties and getting along with their new dog sister. Very cool! It's great when people adopt adults kitties or dogs. And that looks like a great rescue/foster site. I see the pit in your dog more in those pics, but hopefully she has enough of other things in her that she isn't obviously all pit to someone else. The singling out of a particular breed for euthanasia is the worst thing I've ever heard of. I hope this doesn't happen in your city. I know it has elsewhere, and people have moved their pets to new homes b/c of it. Good luck there.
OK... I just didn't really believe this when I saw it -- thought it might be faked, so I checked with my friend who is career military pilot. Here's the scoop:Quote:
"Yes, that was real. What they did was pull the nose of the airplane really steep then kept the wings level and smoothly pushed the nose back down--like going over the top on a roller coaster. That creates a slight negative g force simulating weightlessness. NASA flys a similar parabolic arc in a big jet to train astronauts.
My students used to be required to practice a similar maneuver in the T-45 and I would make my pencil fly around "
So there you go... from the horse's (or pilot's) mouth!

Here's Max
Oh Max is so cute.
I love Pugs they seem like such a big personality in such a small package.:)
Both Max's are adorable!! I've always had Border Collies but I'm finding some of the smaller breeds very appealing; as Trekhawk says, they have really big personalities. :)
Yay! Another pug owner! How old is Max? He's adorable. :D
Hey oxyback,
Max will be 7 in october. Big attitude on this guy - shoulda named him 'danger', cause he wants to kill big dogs! Anyway, I actually posted a pic of my new mixte bike yesterday and left a pic of him too for you. So how old is your pug?
How funny, I just scrolled thru this thread to see if i could find any other pugs, (such cute pets - wow!) and found pics of max that I had already posted a long time ago on page 7 - oops, oh well, what can I say - I love him so!:D
here are two of my four, sisters macan and monkey. Macan means "tiger" in indonesian. These two girls are 6 years old, my other two are 11 and 13.
vickie
I wish I had a picture, but I bought new bike shoes a few months back and one of my cats sleeps in the box religiously. I call her Size 40 Cat when she does. She fits EXACTLY in the box when she tucks all of her parts in. She's mostly fluff.
Our other cats sit in the box... but they do not fit. I think they are oblivious to this fact. Parts spilling over? No problem. Box totally deformed? No problem. It must be comfortable, but I just can't see how.
Edit... it's not the box, but here's a good bag example. See a bag? Must lay on bag. Whatever we are doing that involves bags MUST be good. This is Mo (Marshmallow).

Another of my favorite Cats In Things(tm) pictures... she's no longer with us, but she makes a great second turntable. This is Miss B (also Babs/Babsie).

Here's my pup Jimmy (he's a one and a half year old Australian Shepherd):
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL130.../293971731.jpg
He's a bit of a ham actually and I've been told that he's actually a human in a doggie coat. He's a Patriot's fan - oh don't talk to him about the Superbowl Loss!!
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL130.../271721453.jpg
He thinks he's is a customer service rep:
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL130.../281691483.jpg
But at the end of the day, he just likes a nice patch of grass and a good roll (he's 4 months old here):

And yes, he's a bit of a camerahound...

in the pool picture you can almost see that her face is all wet. She likes to stick her whole muzzle in and blow bubbles. It is the funniest thing ever!

Oh, Ikkin!!!! Maya looks just as sweet as my Hudson! They really have a similar face! Sooooo cute. See the link in my sig for pics.
andtckrtoo your Jimmy looked at first to me like a Sheltie. Nice to see what he is up close. I used to have an Austrialian Shepard she was one of the best dogs I ever had!
TriMom, sorry about your George, it's so sad when they leave us. He looked like what my Pascal will probably grow up to look like. Handsome pup!
More recent pictures of Pascal, he'll be 4 months tomorrow!
Attachment 6938
Pascal has that gawky adolescent look...so cute!
LOL Zen that is for sure! He's all legs and wiggle right now. I just love him to pieces.....it's silly but I think about his cuteness all the time. Awe....sappy I know.:o
