I vote for more coffee and plaing on TE. :D

I ordered the last of my SS gift for October. Thanks for the suggestions. Now hopefully delivery will be speedy so I am able to promptly ship everything off to her. I love swapping. :D
Yeah, Knot, more coffee, more TE. =D
Knot, more coffee and Mae says "you should go for a run with Stinkybutt dog" that'll cheer both of you up ;)
We're working on a plan for a single women-only Velo Girls ride TBA on the VG calendar. I think we've settled on a date place and time....now working on recovery meal afterward location.
Well, I am talking to myself, but that is okay, I am fine company. :p
With my October SS covered, I thought I would think of me. Heck I deserve to pamper myself. I found a new bike store (well new to me) and bought a pair of socks with runners, swimmers, and bikes on them (tri socks). I was so excited to get home. I cannot bike, but I can run. I bought myself my first ever pair of trail, mud, slosh, snow running shoes...Brooks Adrenaline⢠ASR. Whoo Hooo! So I hurry home because I really want to run and wear my new tri socks for inspirations. Disappointment was soon to follow when I took out the socks. The packaging was marked small BUT the socks inside were XL!!!
Now I need to drive (okay be driven) all the way back to get a refund. This was the last pair they had, so so much for my inspirational tri socks.
As soon as I return I am hitting the trails. It is a gorgeous autumn day here. I hope everyone is having a splendid day.
FWIW-I was not driving, per the doctor's request. DH was playing chauffeur.
Just call me Tri-less. :(
No, no! Be not sad, B3! For TE has many tri socks! http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=16375
Click to shop is your friend! Click now! Socks will arrive soon! Your all terrain shoes sound great. Let us know what socks you end up with.
KN, hope you got out with the dog or the bike, or whatever.
It's a gorgous day here. I rode my bike downtown (7.5 mi) to see the chiropractor. Elbow's still hurting. He did some different things today. I'm starting to get frustrated with it. Hope the new stuff helps.
Rode home, stopped on the Roosevelt bridge to eat my PB&J, soak up the sun, and admire my city from that angle. From that bridge, I can see all of downtown, the river, and train tracks. The land between the river and the tracks is a little slice of the prairie in the midst of all the city. As I munched, I saw they were raising the draw bridge to let sailboats through on the river. So we all, cars, bikes, runners, peds, waited for the bridge to go back down. It was quite a sight--the bike lane went straight up in the air. That drawing of the bike, the arrow going....directly up into the perfect blue sky. I said to one of the other cyclists, "That's quite a bike lane." She replied, "Go for it! :p "
And now...a nap. Seeing the S.G. for dinner tonight. MWBR!
No coffee, no more TE. I got out and worked on the bike. She's almost ready for her pictures!
Oh those are adorable, way cuter than the ones I brought home. I see TE has the ones that I bought and returned: http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=4075
TE is my friend. :D
I can only imagine what 'cryptic' would entail. Judging from another thread, I'm guessing we'd hear "Roger that, TE, the horse is in the fort" if positive, or "wheels are spinning, but the rider's dead" if not...
OOHHH - have fun Lise!!!
It's from the "Ohhhhhh no...." thread in Non-cycling Open Topic... though the 'negative' one was based on the "The wheel's spinning but the hampster's dead" :D
Bored, bored, bored. Entertain me.
I went to DeAnza Flea Market today - always fun. A couple of enterprising ladies have converted an old trailer into a very nifty coffee/espresso/latte shop. Very cool, and so much better than the people that sell awful coffee in the liter cups. I found a great steet sign for my office cubicle "GOA WAY" And Sox!!! And a patchwork kinda hoodie made by a woman from Nepal. Shopping therapy. It's a good thing.
I'm watching Ray Davies on PBS right now...(younger girls are now scratching their heads......Ray Davies?):p
Wow, Snap, the flea market - impressive!
So we had some fun with nature just now. We tried to let the (fat indoor/outdoor) cat out, but there were 3 huge racoons on the deck (so I called him back in). Anyway, they kept coming right up to the sliding glass door when we were standing there. We'd close it really quickly when they got too close - but they're gutsly little critters, aren't they?? They were fairly disappointed I grabbed the small bowl that we keep the outdoor semi-feral cay's fod in. Another reminder not to put so much in that bowl...
I remember the time one got trapped in the bungee cord-tied shut garbage can of dog food we kept on the deck. Our rottie was just fascinated by the can and we couldn't figure it out til we took the lid off and the little bandit poked his head out.
This is why we cannot use our cat door.
'coons are awesome, too. I had a "pet" 'coon who lived by my appt complex in Eugene. Bigger than either of our cats (possibly bigger than both put together) he looked like a big, fuzzy cuddlebear, but I don't think I'd try. :p Ugh, I miss having pets big enough to cuddle.
I'm trying to burn my worktime as fast as I can, too. Bored, bored, bored. Looking at directions for this cart and trying to think of who I know with an oxy-acetylene torch. I think the landlord does. It uses plywood as a floor, but y'know, I might come up with something thinner and lighter.*shrug* This bugger will *definitely* help this winter when I'm carting wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of compost into my raised bed gardens though... =P
I didn't see the little guy either when I was at work! All of a sudden, there he was today! Isaac the cat likes the little guy a lot. He keeps trying to pin him down with his paw.
Maybe I'll write up a date report and PM it to the interested throng! I had a great time.
Count me in on the PM parade!
Inquiring minds want to know!
Hey Lise
I get excited enough over TE folks' lives, etc... I don't need to be in on the PM throng, but I'm glad you had a good time.
As long as people are happy, that's all I ever want. :D
When I was biking down Highway 101 in Fall 1980 I grew beansprouts. Hung 'em in a cut off nylon from the rails under the saddle and watered them a few times a day. Great! Ingenious! Nutrish too!
'til one day in Northern California in the middle of the redwoods in a Park a racooon ate them one night!
Never liked raccoons since that day
lise, add me to the update list. I neeeeed to know the details.
last week on our trip we saw lots of wildlife, my kids, who only get to see rabbits and deer normally, got to see racoons and nakes and lot of frogs. there are about 70 acres of woods near one of the houses where we stayed. The kids were told not to go wondering around there by themselves because there were lots of animals. D, who is 3 guessed that elephants and anacondas lived in the woods.
Snap- your flea market trip sounds like it went well and was fun.
MP- I have never seen a racoon up close and personal. It sounds like they enjoy your home.
Lise- I am gald you had a good time. :) Add me to the PM throng. Your message was too cryptic I need details.
hey Lise - I wanna hear more too!!
what a wonderful, crisp fall day - perfect for a ride. I guess I will do a long trail hike. I gotta get outside!!!
I'm the caboose on BJ! I'm so proud. I don't know how to post a pic over there, so I'll do it here. I don't know why this is such a kick to me, but it is and I love it.
Oh, and yes I changed my bj name from Princess Scooter to snapdragen.
Congratulations, Snap! I'm so proud to know you!
(SKnot was the caboose briefly, so he shares your joy)
Snap -- How the h#ll did that person in Spain come in ahead of you? You both have the same mileage.
There's dignity in being the caboose.
Hopefully two pictures will show up and not be too huge. The first should be onf me running in my oversized shirt and shorts. The second shows the woods I was running in.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

beautiful! thanks BMof3!
i miss fall colors. i got to see them for the first time in almost 10 years when we went into town. phoenix didn't have a fall and we don't have any trees here. :(
Flossie is ready for her close-up! Now to take some pics, and try to make a new avatar!
Of course, the sun came out AFTER I took this picture.

The beautiful bar-tape is from Trek420. You can't quite see, but she has a brass Incredi-bell mounted on the stem. And those aren't white-walls, they're reflective walls. Spent a good hour or two cleaning and lubing and shining her drivetrain. oooh, sexy....
Oh my! :p
Beautiful Knot! I'm a tad jealous
Tomorrow is my 14th anniversary - I quit smoking in 1992. Yay! I should do something to commemorate it - maybe ride my bike! Wouldn't that be a change.......
Flossie is beautiful :)
Glad we finally get to drool over Flosshilde. She's purty. Oooo... Sloping fork crown. Campy skewers. Does she go without crankbolt dust caps (like all my bikes)?
I like the new avatar too, Knotted.
