After reading the description of the 405 full zip more closely, it sounds like it is felted wool. After the reports of the felted Ibex Switchbacks being unstable and shrinking I am kind of leery of this. I do agree about the crimson red color.

SO, my ibex full zip boucles arrived today: http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/Product...oucle-Full-Zip
As I said before, I ordered it in sandstone in both S and M. It is a very nice piece. The cut is the same as the full zip shak (minus the pocket), but the fabric is different. I would say the outside is more textured than the shak, but not rough like the carrie hoodie. The inside is identical. It is soft on bare skin.
All my other ibex is small, and indeed the small in this piece fits the best. I also ordered the medium since I thought it might layer better, but it just looked frumpy on me, compared to the sleek fit of the small (and sleeves were too long and kind of bunched up under my arms). The small layered fine over the pieces I wanted to layer it over (a long sleeve blouse would be the heaviest). I will warn you that the color is a little darker than the way the Ibex pic looks on my computer screen, I would call it more of a beige or taupe than sand color, but it is a very nice neutral light color for spring. It has an elegant look, almost of a textured linen, so it would work with casual or professional clothes.
So, I can either ship the M back to Ibex for a full refund, but I thought I'd offer it up here first since I noticed they are sold out of the sandstone M, and maybe save myself some return postage. All I ask is that you pay me what I payed plus shipping costs to you, which I just priced at the USPS website at $11.00 for priority shipping w insurance to any US address in a flat rate box. I payed $95, so I am just looking to recover $106 via paypal. It is brand new with tags. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, NO REFUNDS. PM me if you are interested. If I don't hear from anyone by monday I'll send it back to Ibex then.
The only thing that would keep me from sending back/selling the medium is if someone tells me that they bought this piece and it shrunk. But I am assuming it will not shrink like my other ibex (which I do wash by hand in cold water).
A-HA! I found the first downside to moving out west....Ibex stuff takes longer to arrive now! :p
I haven't seen my order yet, but I'm kind of glad to hear it's a little darker in color than it appears on the web. It'll camoflauge my dog's hair better! ;)
I'm ordering the 405 today. I can't resist. :o

I purchased this jersy fron the Ibex outlet website this spring and really like it. Not itchy at all.

I think this is probably the first time I've posted to this thread (wool makes me itchy, if I'm lucky I can sometimes stand cashmere against my skin but not merino anymore except for socks). And I have to confess that I have not bothered to read all 111 pages of it. But another thread inspired me to post.
You wool-fans should visit the Rapha site (they sell some of this stuff at Competitive Cyclist too): www.rapha.cc.
I absolutely love their cycling clothes and think they are totally gorgeous and classy and sleek and hot and I would love to wear them and it might even make me try wool. Maybe. It's gorgeous. Really. Check it out.
Argh! Like I need more wool to drool over. Those wool Ralpha pieces are nice. Some of the pieces are very elegant. I can see me in some in the not to distant future.;)
I saw Ibex on TV!
I got home last night and DH was watching a show about an Alaskan challenge of some sort. I think it was a few groups of people spending 3 months in Alaska, but I missed the major premise.
Anyway, there was one couple where the woman was an adventure racer. In the scene, she was comforting her husband who was having a hard time with whatever was going on. They showed a shot of them from the back and clear as day was a big ole Ibex logo on the back of her jacket! Even DH noticed it right away. I tried to ID what type of jacket it was, with no luck. It struck me as appropriate that the woman who had backwoods experience appeared to be dressed appropriately for the conditions and this included Ibex and the man, who was covered with sweat and clearly struggling and uncomfortable, was wearing what looked like a cotton shirt and cargo pants. Pretty cool!
(I know, I'm a dork :o)
i just got the Ibex ribbed tank top. ($35) I'm too excited to write a review.
Ooooh, baby!
(and a lavender Ibex bobble hat $15. Excellent!)
I am waiting for a boucle jacket and a currant-coloured polo shirt. Do they ever send a tracking number? This is nerve-wracking!
Grog,
You will find a tracking # for your order on the Ibex website under "my account" and the specific order.
I just got my crimson red 405 full zip. The color is beautiful and the fabric is very soft. Softer than the shak material. It seems very warm and cuddly.
Ok, I finally got my Ibex stuff today!
I only got to look at the items at lunch today (I'll try them on tonight) but at first glance, I'm super happy. The Rossa Hoody is VERY cute in person. I can't wait to try it on. The plan is to wear it to work tomorrow if it fits!
The cadence T is also extremely cute. I have a sneaking suspicion that it'll be worn to death this summer!
And the boucle jacket is exactly what I'd hoped. It's identical to my Carrie Hoody but without the hood. Trisk, whatever Carrie hoody you originally tried must have had issues - this boucle is the same as my carrie hoody boucle and it's definitely not scratchy. Overall, it's flattering and cozy. And like Trisk mentioned, it's a tad darker than it looks in the photo which is perfect for me as it'll better camoflauge the dog fur from my two tan dogs! :)
That is so interesting, and explains why I hated the carrie hoodie and vest that I tried on. Also the sizing was off on the ones I tried on, since those fit me better in M when every other piece of Ibex I have fits best in S! In fact, that is why I didn't order the bella vest, makes me want to reconsider..... Are you SURE the fabric is the same boucle as your other pieces?? Does it catch easily, that's all I worry about. If not, maybe I need to order a bella vest to layer over my shaks next winter........ Does anyone know how the sizing runs (i.e. do I need an M to layer over a small shak?).
I am still wearing my ibex. Its so overly air conditioned where I work, I wear my ibex polo Ts with a shak or boucle on top now every day, even when its 80 outside!
What I wouldn't give for just 1 day at 80 degrees! :p We haven't topped 50 degrees in over a week!!
I'll take another look at it when I get home and I'll also compare the fits. I've never tried on the bella vest, so I don't know how the sizing runs on that (though my guess is that it's the same as the carrie hoody). Stay tuned...
Trisk -
I compared the boucle full zip to the Carrie Hoody. Exact same fabric and fit is pretty darn close. The sleeves on my Carrie Hoody are a tad longer feeling because they don't have the little band thing at the wrist. Of course, on a vest, that won't matter anyway. The only difference is that my Carrie Hoody feels a tad heavier, but I think that's because it's got pockets (with lining) that the boucle zip does not (unfortunately). If your boucle fits you in a S, I'm sure a Carrie Hoody will too. Again, I can't speak for the vest though.
Other reviews:
The Rossa hoody is awesome! It's a little low cut in front for work but it would be a super sexy 'going out' type top. To work, I'll wear a camisole under it. It's a bit more fitted that I would have expected, but the medium is still the right size for me (as almost all my Ibex stuff is M), so I'd say it's true to size but slim fitting. Very flattering with the band falling right below the bust and the flair in the bottom hitting my hips nicely. It's actually more flattering on me than I thought it would be! I think it'll be really cute with a blazer over it, too.
The Cadence T is really nice on. It's defintely fitted, but cute. It's a bit more 'updated' than a regular T with the contrast stiching and the almost cap sleeves. I love it and I foresee wearing it an awful lot this summer. :D
