I love my Switchback jacket and my Meru helmet liner!
Now you're making me want (even more) the charcoal gray Switchback pullover.
It makes perfect sense that wool is comfortable inside and outside, as it breathes so well and temerature regulates so well. I usually wear my Switchback as a jacket, but often wear it inside as a sweater.
Waiting for my backordered Twizel shirt from Ibex.

I have a few things in the persimmon color- including the switchback pullover and the switchback vest. VERY cool to have matching sweater and vest...and cool to be able to double up the wool warmth by adding the vest on top of the sweater. I like how visible the persimmon color is on the bike in traffic.

I intend to buy some of these puppies tomorrow. Maybe I'll even go to the great huge REI flagship store in downtown Seattle! (anyone else remember the old days? the creosote floor of the REI building on Capitol Hill? Military surplus and unique goodies? sigh...)
One pair of these will leave me with just a smidgen of dividend. So maybe I'll buy a pack of Clif Bloks as well.
I already have a pair of Not-Wool Injinjis, and I love them. My toes love them. My feet as a whole love them. My Chaco Z-2s love them in a big and whole-hearted way.
Unless someone else comes up with a wool or wool-blend tabi sock, I'm gonna be an Injinji weenie for a while.

Just wanted to report that I got the Ibex Switchback for my s.o. for her birthday(it's in May). Thanks for the heads up on the sale KnottedYet. Couldn't wait to give it to her, and she LOVES IT!!! She has fallen in love with the idea of wool and Ibex just as much as I have. So now she's a woolweenie too, we both check their site often for sales, as well as Sierra Trading Post, and drool:D And while she doesn't get involved with anything else I am reading on TE she loves to read the woolweenies posts.:D

I got her the cobalt blue switchback with the orange collar. Matches the colors of my road bike, but I'm going to let her keep it. She came home from work yesterday and said she thought about it all day, I don't think she's going to make it until her birthday 'til she actually gets it. Myself, I can't decide which piece of Ibex will be my first, but I am leaning toward the long sleeve bike jersey in orange, of course!

Rivendell MUSA pants in a lightweight wool twill. I'd pay $70-$80 for a pair. Maybe I'll send them a friendly little (abject begging) email.
Rivendell's wool long underwear bottoms are just as heavy and dense as Ibex's midweight long undies. But half the cost. Ummm, I think I'll be getting some when my cheap-rotten-crappy wool Duofolds finally fall to pieces. (wonder if Trek'll let me mooch off her $10 Rivendell coupon in the next Rivendell Reader?)

Ibex has their spring catalog up. They are carrying organic cotton now. The new seamless wool undies won't be up until fall.
My Ibex Twizel arrived today. Oh, my! this is a great shirt!
It's no longer on clearance ($30). Now it's back to normal price of like $80 or something. The fit is amazing, the fabric is great, and the stripes really aren't like a flashback to the 70's at all!
I knew I should have ordered the Twizel. It looked very nice and definitely not retro. *sigh* I will listen better next time.

I want a charcoal one, and I might justify it if I get it instead of rock shoes. Right? That counts, doesn't it? There has to be a way to rationalize buying another full zip, when my current one is still in good shape and I have other charcoal gray sweaters, yeah, there's gotta be a way! Sure, SKnot needs new shoes, but this is a FULL ZIP SWITCHBACK for only $60! eek!

I just got my first Rapha jersey in the mail, and thought I'd share the tip.
The Rapha Tricolor and 2006 Club Jerseys are half price- Still $70 + shipping from the UK, but it's a really wonderful piece of clothing. They're sportwool (40% merino, 60% poly, but so so so soft and really lightweight- I'm hoping it'll make a good summer jersey). They're men's sizes, but the X-Small fits me perfectly (I usually wear Women's jerseys in small)

Wool weenies! Where are you? Have you forsaken the merino now that spring has arrived? Remember the days of yore when we would post multiple times a day? It has been a week and no odes to the miracle of wool have been posted and no sacrifices TO the sheep that give us warmth, dryness, love, and for some meat.

Today on top I am wearing TWO merino base shirts and then a Terry polyester hoodie over that. On the bottom I am wearing Underarmour tights with Ibex merino leggings over that. Going out walking with a girlfriend later and it's damp and grey out there, about 45 degrees. I'll be snuggly.
I am still being true to wool.
I actually plan to get some sleeveless merino tanks for the summer to see how that goes. Never wore wool in the summer before- i'm betting it will be great- no stinkiness! I would be a perfect candidate for it, since i don't sweat very much and don't get overheated easily.
I'm still wearing wool all the time.
I now have 2 long-sleeve wool shirts, 2 3/4 sleeve shirts, 2 short-sleeve shirts.
(plus all the other wool stuff and wool turtlenecks)
I can go an entire week wearing nothing but wool shirts. (and since they don't have to be washed until I've worn them 3 or 4 times, my laundry days have shrunk considerably)
When I wear a cotton shirt now, it feels weird.
my mother has gotten into the act. she found a really nice slightly shrunken rose lamb's wool v neck sweater for me at goodwill. it's nice enough to wear
as a top layer, but will be nice as an undergarment as well.
DH will not ride with anything except wool socks even when it's warm. another convert.

I just ordered one from Backcountry.com also on sale.
having the Jersey just wasn't enough. The only tee I found on sale was a nice blue, not my favorite color, but heck, it's a teeshirt. (either that or a color called ROPE!)
