(((Diving Biker))) So sorry about your Bailey. How awful it's been for you lately. It's so hard when you have a lot of them in their senior years. Hang in there -- you will find a new one that needs you just as badly and will help you heal.
As for the rest of you -- OMG: Too much cuteness! Ben could steal my heart in an instant, and those kittens, well, if I had a farm, I'd have SO many of them! Good thing I have DH to keep me in line! Oh, and that rental contract thingy!:D
Not the head so much but look at the size of those ears  and such a worried look. :p That photo is taken by Spazzdog (who lurks here and is a fabulous photographer).
Hi Sundial,
Glad you enjoyed Ben's pictures. He's certainly charmed my family.
Any suggestions for getting Ben to like the trailer? I've disconnected it from the bike, I put him in the trailer and just walk it around for a few minutes, praise him and give him a treat. But it doesn't seem like he much likes it.
Furry, some dogs go through a shy period about 13-15 weeks and judging Ben's size, he may be at the stage. Things that didn't affect him before may cause him to be a little more unsure during this period.
I would encourage him to get into the trailer on his own and praise him with an excited, "Good boy!" and give him a treat. Then let him sit in it a little longer and praise him for his good deed. Gradually build up the time in the trailer. This may take a week or days, depending on his stage of development. (Corgies are very intelligent and very responsive so he may take to it pretty quick.) You might want to put his favorite toy and bedding in it so he will feel more secure and make a positive association between the two. (Perhaps the floor of the trailer may have a little too much give for him and as a result feels less secure.)
After he becomes more comfortable with the trailer, walk the trailer with Ben in it. Before he starts to become anxious, stop and praise him. Continue this until he is comfortable in the trailer and he enjoys spending longer periods in it. Then graduate to the bicycle. Tool around in the yard with Ben. Try to end the little jaunt on a high note and praise him heavily. Eventually Ben will look forward to your little jaunts, especially if you give him his favorite treat afterwards (DQ ice cream!). My aussie enjoys riding a little trailer with me and sliding down the kiddie slide at the park.
Good luck with your little adventure and Ben's lucky to have a nice mommy like you. :)
furry, love your corgi! here are mine. they are actually corgi/beagle mixes. the big guy is smithwicks (after the beer), and he's about 1 yr 4 mo. the little girl is merckx, and she's about 5 mo. then we have our cat, applesauce.
Corgi/Beagle... I like it! They are very cute.
Do they bark like beagles or corgis?
This is my dog....I got her from a shelter. She's half chow/half german shepherd. She's smaller than you'd think and shy. I think she must've been abused. She's 2 1/2 now and I've had her for almost 2 years. Sweeeet girl. :)
Aw you all have beautiful pets. I'm jealous. I live in an apartment building where no pets are allowed :(.
furry, they are actually cardigan welsh corgis, so they do have tails.
i had never had any experience with the breed before we got our older dog, but i have fallen in love with corgis now. they are so smart and good natured. have a great time with your little guy!
PEACH: I love her ears! She looks VERY smart and sweet. Quite a nice combination of whatever she is!Quote:

Great pic of Maya! My dog, Mac, helps us with blackberries. She eats them right off the vines! Prefers to steal them from the bucket, of course!:)
ikkin--lol! Maya has blueberry tongue. :p
I had to show some kitty love... here's my little Estrellita. She's such a food thief.

This is Jasmine who I found at the pound 2 months ago after I lost my 7 yr old Great Dane/ lab in May to cancer. I think she is Greyhound/lab.

OMG all ur guyses pets are SOOO cute!
How do I upload my photo??? Apparently it's too large (3.81MB), so is there any way to make it the requisite 195.3KB???:confused::confused:
if you google "resize photo" you can find a lot of online programs to resize pictures.
YAY! Figured it out . . . just kept shrinking it down over and over and over and over until I finally got it to the correct size. Thanks! :D:D:D
And here are my babies, Snoopy and Lucy. Snoopy turned six on the 5th of this month, and Lucy turns six on the 17th of this month. I took the photo in June at the Mendocino headlands.
Usually you set max height and/or max width in pixels. When I'm downsizing photos I usually resize to max height 550 pixels (width automatic). That means I can see the entire photo on screen in my browser without having to scroll in any direction. To add photos to TE I make them smaller because the available space is less with the menus and whatnot, max height 300 pixels or so seems to work fine. If you right-click on any photo here you can see how many pixels they are each way.
If the file size is still too big (ie. above 195 Kb) you can either downsize them a bit more, or store in a different format, .gif files seem to take less space than .jpg.
Edit: I see you got it :-) Lovely dogs!
Thanks for the extra explanation, lph. Very helpful!
And thanks for the compliment on my doggies . . . they are a handful, but we love 'em anyway! :D
Here's my doggie, Cog. Humunga-tongue optional.
