Anyway, he did a show about the wines from BC. Sounded great.
Of course I live right near wine country myself....
We seriously need to figure out how to get a job like that! Lise could be the designated food taster and we all could take care of the wine. Sound like a plan???Quote:

We started asking her questions like
Us: "what happens when an airplane flies through the cloud?"
FJ: "they just jump off the cloud and float until the airplane goes by and then they float back up to the cloud"
Us: 'what happens when it rains?"
FJ: They have umbrellas
FJ: it's looking very care bear-y outside today
Us: Where do the Care Bears go when there are no clouds on a clear day?
FJ: They float off with the clouds. I think these clouds are going to be in Maryland tomorrow.
You get the idea. It was hilarious! She had an answer for everything we could come up with. I love telecommuting!
Nullum pinum flaccidum
Fish that is hysterical!!
Fish - love it! Those conversations are why I love being a teacher (and a parent :)
Nanci - Coke Alert? As in, we both had the same thought at the same time? or is there another meaning? And Pinum - means Pine? Or is that your own latin version. :) I guess it could still be considered "wood"... As long as it's not "flaccidum"....
Wine - we drank a bottle last night, a bottle the night before, and a bottle the night before that. It's gonna be a nice summer but I'm going to have to start drinking the home made stuff pretty soon or I'll go broke...

So what's a really good Californian Merlot? or Cab Sauv? Something I can drink without food? There are a lot of wines I like but they need food - I want something with a big taste that I can drink sitting out on the deck, watching the sun set...
I like the Aussie Yellowtail Shiraz, but mostly I drink local wines. Summerhill, Jackson Triggs..
Coke Alert means don't have a mouthful of something when you read the post. So you don't laugh and spit.
The original latin word was "vinum" so I just changed it to "pinum" which sounds like penis.
Kelowna, at least you're not up to 2 bottles a night! You have to cultivate a taste for the less expensive wines. I _love it_ when I can find one I really LOVE for under $8.00- like Columbia Crest Shiraz or Covey Run Chardonnay, not to mention all the Sutter Homes except merlot, mostly which I wouldn't say I loved, but liked a lot for $4.00!!
But I know what you were thinking of "Jinx 123456789 10 you owe me a Coke!" right?
Yeah, that's the one - can you tell I have an 8 year old at home?Quote:

Chocolate goes with port!!
oohhhhh yummy! That sounds good. I'm going to have to find something to trade with CC.
CC - what else do you want???
One of my faves is a French merlot that's only $8+ a bottle (Bouchard Aine & Fils). That's cheap around here. We don't have any wine under $8 I don't think. Unless you buy it by the box and then it probably works out that way.Quote:
