I remember when i was living in Puerto Rico, visiting some people who lived in a poor community where all the houses were rickety shacks built on stilts hovering several feet over a mangrove swamp. The houses were standing in the air over the water on these stilts, and there was a network of planks on stilts connecting the houses, like 8" wide pathways suspended high up. scary! Bare light bulbs were strung on wires connecting all the houses and lighting the plank paths as well, like strange Christmas decorations.Quote:

My well water is full of e.coli. I have a UV treatment thingy for it but it needs something or other. I just don't drink my water.There are some parts of the DC area that have contaminated water due to lead pipes.
