Well, we shall soon see! I'm doing my little wine country loop tomorrow and then stopping by the LBS to get my new seat put on! I'm really looking forward to seeing how it is!

Yes, my hand was killing me by the end! We were laughing at how even the painted bike lane things were hurting.... I think they had at least 50 coats of paint on those things and I was concentrating on moving forward so I'd come up on them and not have time to maneuver around them.... OUCH! They were hurting Pam too, so I was not alone in my compaining! :p

I'm glad I did it, for sure! I did not prepare adequately as it should not have been that hard but now I know better for next time!

That was one of my only complaints of the whole day. We actually ended up riding the white line for much of that stretch because the bike lane signs were so jarring.

ok you guys! you all (and the guys) ARE spoiled! that so-called bad section of old pch is BETTER than one of the roads i have to ride on to get almost anywhere around here! lol!

I wore my PI shorts but I can't remember which ones they are... one of the microsensors or something... not the ones w/the pink/purple (?) inside but they have a large pad but its all gray and it is one of the 'something sensor' shorts....

actually all areas covered by my shorts (ahem ;) ) are okay, a little tender until the next morning, but nothing major... I picked the right ones for the ride... so far those and my attack shorts are my favorites!

I just can't wait to try out the new saddle (of course, now that I'm so excited it probably won't work for me :rolleyes: ). I just remember it being pure heaven riding around on Alex's saddle!

What I really want to find is a good tank (you know, like that red one at CTC that I shoulda grabbed!)... I need one that I can wear my big, huge, sports bra under though and cute ones are hard to find!

Actually some of the roads on my 40 miler are just like that... it was the painted bike signs that were a bigger issue for me... the bumpy roads were just an irritant but not enough to hurt like that darned writing! :p

yup, I was definately short some saddle time for this one ;) I did get a wierd thing on the back of my leg (well, right at my butt crease) ... two little lines... sorta like pinch lines ... I put some cortizone cream on them when I got home and now they are going away... must have been that allmighty powerful downstroke huh? (where's that laughing, rolling smiley when I need it?)

Hey Tracy what sort of saddle are you getting??

I always like to know what works for others or not.

As far as rides for the rest of this year - I only have a couple planned.
Im doing Fair Oaks Metric this Sunday. Siskiyou Century in September and probably Foxy's Fall Century in October. I think.

Perhaps we could plan for a bunch of us to get together in the new year on one of the Spring Centurys. LOL - do you think that would give us time to plan. Also my husband would be over the shock of looking after the kids for a whole weekend while Im at the Siskiyou Century.:D

I got one of the selle smp strike saddles... like slinkedog has, but the men's version... I just didn't want to be changing saddles right before a long ride. It would be very cool if we could all do a ride mid-way but I'll have to see... my DH just had one of "those" weekends so I'm planning on sticking close to home for a while ;)

Tracy - if you can do the Limestone ride Saturday let me know. If not, let's see if we can find a Saturday morning or evening to do Chino Hills. I especially love Chino in the evening all the critter come out - especially the B-cats and coyotes!

Anyone else interested in doing a cruisey canyon ride up Telegraph let me know. Chino Hills trail starts out of Carbon Canyon Regional Park, just east of Brea off Lambert.

Also I have some good TB rides coming up in September and October. I'll go ahead and make a new post for those. I haven't gotten the new TNC schedule yet but have signed up for some great rides. In October we are doing the Fremont/Weir/Blind Loop - which is fairly challenging and the Fremont/Tecate out and back which kicked my booty last time but I'm hoping to do better. Both of these start out of Irvine Regional Park.

I don't think any of it is technical - it's all on fire roads but I did hear after the Sierra Peak Fire the Edison company put alot of water bars on the W/B/F Loop downhills - so they maybe alittle technical. Della and I will be doing the ride probably next month to check it out. Tecate is just grindy, grindy, grindy. Not technical. Just grindy. Did you get that? GRINDY!

Chino Hills, however is alittle technical - not bad, especially lower Canyon (Telegraph). There are several fun water crossing. Most are dried out by now. In the winter its a real challenge as the water can be running quite high. Mr. Palmer had himself a good fall in one muddy stream. I however, walked through it. The upper ridges (which we'll do some other time) have their technical moments. I rode down Sycamore trail for the first time without stopping last month. First time in 4 years of trying. Wayne, Della and Paul fly down like its nothing. Hate them!

I doubt it, I'm pretty chicken... I'm sure I have a lot of room for improvement before I get too chicken but I'll never be whipping down any long scary descent, that's for sure!

I'm not sure they have posted all the photos. I purchased mine at the event and my number was 289 in File No. 3. Tracy was right after mine at No. 290. The File No. 3 series only goes up to 230 right now. If I'm wrong, let me know. Tracy, did you find yours?

I thought the quality was good - better than on some others I've been on. I think the overcast sky improves photo quality. The photo guy told me he was just retained to do this event about 1 week before. He said the previous photo company (I don't know who that was) is more of a computer guy (sets up camera to go off at predetermined point). This guy said he is more of a photographer and less a computer person.

OK I'm clueless I never saw a photographer. I'm so used to Photo Crazy who gives you ample warning and the time the photo is posted. This is almost impossible to find. Tracy/Nina - was the photo taken early or late? In what group?

Pam, I don't remember exactly where on the course the photographer was located. It was probably about half way between the 1st and 2nd SAG stops. He had a van set us with a big sign that said "3" on it when I passsed. We were all together at that time, so yours would be near mine. Like I said, I found my photo at the finish where he had a big table set up with long strips of photos. My number was 289 in File 3. I saw Tracy's right next to mine, but I didn't have a chance to see anyone else because everyone was crowding around the table and it was hard to see. Right now I can't find mine on the site, so that leads me to believe they haven't posted all of them yet. I'll e-mail the guy and see what happpens.

hi photos are always great! which is why i'm so ticked he wasn't on the route where all three rides were! :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: he does big bear (among other rides) and i always buy my pic when he's at a ride!
