Mimi,
I am so sorry for your loss. I joined the Seattle Randonneurs a little too late to get to know Don well, but I know he's a legend! I hope he's riding happy trails in heaven.

Yes, i had take it dow after You tube blocked it everywhere but Uzbekstan and Western Somoa due to a copyright issue on "Brown Eyed Handsome man" by Chuck Berry or "Peace in the Valley" By Elvis Presley and the Jordanaires. I forgot to come over here and delete the post:o
I've fixed it. Unless R. Crumb and the Cheap Suit Seranarders complain:

Saw it while reading this morning's paper.
Yesterday I was working at a show in CT, where I stopped in a small grocery store and noticed their homemade donuts. I haven't had a donut in maybe 10 years, but I thought of Donald, and had one on his behalf. It was delicious.
What a wonderful tribute, as was the one that Jobob linked to. I read through some of Don's blog over the last few days and was richly rewarded. I'm so sorry for his untimely passing, but boy does it sound like he got a lot of his years on this earth.
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Thanks for sharing this wonderful man with us. Oh, you are a lucky lady to have had him in your life.
Remember we are always here ANYTIME. Stay with us, you've been such an inspiration yourself. Please let us help you now. We have missed you.
And yes, you will miss him! May you find peace in this sad time.
PS, I really love pie, I will definitely be thinking of him with the next big piece!
I was at the RAMROD finish line today and was thinking about him a lot. He was the "master of the water barrels" when I met him while volunteering to load trucks. I loved the "color" he provided when giving instructions to the crew. :D
Last night I read his blog and was so touched and impressed by Donald's open and honest expression of his love for Mimi and the others who were there for him this past year. I'm thankful that he shared with the world.
D.
Yeah. Me too. We loved him a lot.
Oh my Mimi, I am so sorry for your loss. I opened this thread thinking it was about stolen bikes, only to find out about poor Don. I didn't even know he was sick. I wish you the strength to move forward, and am sure you will find comfort from you wonderful children.
You know, a dear friend told me she thinks Katrina(the bike) just left because she couldn't bear to never be ridden by Donald again.
