I just want to say that everyone on this site is awsome!! The support and heartfelt wishes that coming pouring out of this forum are so inspiring it brings tears to my eye's. For a bunch of lady's who don't all know eacother you are all pretty cool. so to all of you wonderful lady's a great big (((((hug)))))! And a high five for all the support you give to the new and the old (not age wise there) If i could buy you all a present I would!

I spend a lot of time on a male dominated motorcycling board and find myself running to TE for the wit, caring, and compassion here. TE is truly a unique place is cyberspace.

Sydney - I was thinking the same thing while I was out riding today. Those boards seem to have an absurd amount of discussion about "freds". I've heard no mention of that here - or any other derogatory terms for that matter - what a relief. Isn't it funny - the men seem to be "catty" and the women are not. I love that!

You mean other than the occaisional visitor, authorised DH, SO asking TE gals for help with the perfect gift (I gotta say not only are the gals here great but your Team Testosterone guys are swell too! They call them "racer weenies" or "weight weenies". And for those who care more about how they look than how much they actually ride, bikeforums has a special name: OCPs (Obsessive-Compulsive Poseurs). Some of the OCPs actually do a nice job of making fun of themselves about it, even while they continue to obsess about getting the handlebar tape to match the kit, and the booties, and the helmet and the tires...who says girls are the ones who get wound up over accessories??
There are some on this site who are men. One has openly admitted it although I can't recall his name. All men who are respectful, helpful, thoughtful and genuinely interested in the thread are more than welcome to participate.Quote:

Yup - I just checked and I'm a girl, too. Yeah - I think most of the men that are so obsessed with Freds, fredosity, fredism, etc are probably OCPs themselves. It's not exactly a supportive environment over there like it is here.

Hey, some of those terms are not mutually exclusive! My Fred is both a weight weenie and a techno geek!! But only on his mountain bike - he consider the road bike training for mtb only (as do I), so if it weighs a lot, that's just harder training!Quote:
