Fuzio's in Dublin was good last year, how about that? :)
http://www.fuzio.com/Locations/restaurants.htm
This provides the phone number for the Dublin location.
I'm looking forward to dinner this year since I'll actually get to ride! WHEEE!
Now if only I can escape the Evil Camera(tm). ;)
Mel
Fuzio is fine, any other ideas? I'm thinking it would be nice if we could have a slightly different arrangement as the long table made it hard to converse with every one. Wasn't it kinda loud there? BG having senior moment here!
Anything in downtown Pleasanton?
Casa Orozco in downtown Livermore has great Mexican food..
Parking at the mall was a pain in the butt... sadiekate said that no one has volunteered to coordinate yet. I'd be willing to do so unless someone else has 2nd thoughts..
thanks ride4ur_life who wrote "I'd be willing to do so unless someone else has 2nd thoughts.."
nothing much to it, just poll for ideas of where to go and make reservations! I take it the one requirement would be full bar. not that I drink anyway.
Actually drinking the night before a ride is NOT a good idea. Alcohol dehydrates you. We should be hydrating ladies! Let's drink AFTER the ride!!!!
BG- the Goddess Mom:eek:
I'd be more than happy to have a post-ride libation with anyone who is patient enought to wait for me to finish. :)
So what time will pre-ride carb dinner be? I may also want to catch a benefit in Santa Rosa -- for a peace activist out-of-work after a car accident. Nina Gerber will be singing. But if that's evening I'll just have to send my regrets and a check. Gotta get down to Hayward by evening anyway, plan to spend the nite at Trek420's so as to make it to the Cindy on time. If that's OK with you, Trek?
What do you propose, considering the number of people who might be going to this dinner ?Quote:

of course! Again, what's your usual pre-epic hike/orienteer/cc-ski breakfast?
This is my first visit to this site and my first post to the board. I couldn't pass up a Nina Gerber reference!Quote:

dar? Is that you my friend? or is this another Dar?
Oatmeal. But now that I'm on a low-fibre diet, I guess cream of wheat. I can bring my own if it's not something you want on hand. Otherwise, the breakfast of Vikings is bread with cheese and/or jam.Quote:

And you don't have to go far for the celebratory drink - they usually open the bar at Camp Parks.:D
fiber is good for you. Is this one of those crazy diets that is supposed to make you lose weight faster than say cutting excess calories and exercising more?Quote:

nah, not a crazy diet, or fad, Bikeless has to go low fiber for medical reasons.
speaking of tents...is TE going to have a tent there this year? Admin? Anyone?
sorry about that, open mouth insert foot. Not the first time - you'd think I'd learn by now........ :o
ooohhh yes, please. I'd love some company.... I promise to be nice!Quote:

that's ok. hey, feet are high protein :D :p
Sounds good! Maybe we can just stay together the whole ride and finish together. I'm slow as molasses in January. I'm so good at getting dropped, I've made it an art form. Just FYI, there are a lot of nice calves in the cycling community out here in CA. :)Quote:

sounds like a plan
"Just FYI, there are a lot of nice calves in the cycling community out here in CA. :)"
ooh, forgot about the calves, yet another reason to like the Cindy. Now thinking about costume.
So what constitutes slow anyway? DH is does his own ride after we ride together. My fast speed doesn't give him a workout at all. :rolleyes:Quote:

Wait.. costume? Costume?! We're supposed to wear a costume? :eek:Quote:

Melody "Wait.. costume? Costume?! We're supposed to wear a costume?"
yes it's mandatory  Just kidding Mel, lots of women wear costumes but it's not required. A helmet's the only thing required ... wait a minute, wait a minute, let's not go with that visual  It's not clothing optional. ;)
My daughter has a cool Cinderella tiara that I'm going to try to hijack the day of the ride. I just hope I don't break it. :)
:) I think we're about the same speed. I can go a little faster on the flats but not always sustained (depends on how I feel that day). My speed on hills is essentially the same as yours though I know I'm getting faster. It used to be I'd have to stop on overpasses. :o Now I'm able to stand and power through them which definately used to not be the case.Quote:

Oh dear. That Bob Roll commercial where he's on the trainer naked is coming to mind. :eek:Quote:

Another popular option has been known to attach a piece of lightweight netting or tule (sp?) to the back of your helmet for that lovely flowing veil effect, one benefit of which is that it makes it seem like you're going faster in photos :D
Tiaras are optional, but are always appreciated. Scepters are somewhat frowned upon for safety concerns, particularly if they were originally cattle prods.
I was a PIRATE thank you. Mustache, sword and parrot. :D
V.
Can I use a javelin so long as I wear a tiara? It would only be aimed at car tires (and the 3-abreast tea parties).
Many things are forgiven if you wear a parrot or a tiara. Or both.

Oh gee, meeting at a bar, I don't know about that ... :rolleyes:Quote:

I think getting together after the ride for a recovery beverage is a super idea. There's always a tasty assortment of food-like items in the main building after the ride, and, like snap said, the bar on the other end of the building has been open in the past (we, um, know this from personal experience :o ). If I recall correctly they had soft drinks, as well as a good selection of beer.
And, the slowpokes who you've just squeezed past who insist on riding around everyone else to the front at each traffic light?Quote:

Truthfully though, for anyone who hasn't ridden this ride before, this ride probably has the highest percentage of inexperienced group cyclists of all I have ridden. Combine the high volume of riders with the traffic density -- please be very careful!
Weather for this weekend 2/11 is supposed to be GREAT!
Can't wait to climb Pig Farm!
Count me in for the dinner - sounds fun, and adult beverages after sounds fun too - if I'm still standing!
