New Discovery Team Leader??

Well, I'm not sure how I feel about this...I was so hopeful for George, but I just got the RoadBikeRider newsletter...

"Discovery Channel has been talking informally with Floyd for several months. Interest may have cooled yesterday, however, when the team signed Levi Leipheimer away from Gerolsteiner for the 2007 season. After no clear leader emerged during the just-completed Tour, Discovery apparently considers the 32-year-old American a potential team captain."

Edited to add... I guess in light of all the bad news from the TdF, this doesn't much matter right now... except maybe to Levi.

Hmmmm, very interesting! Don't think they will be interested in Floyd now.... I kind of lost some respect for Levi in the tour. He seemed like such a stoner in the interviews :rolleyes: .

I like Levi much better than Floyd. However, I do not think that he would be able to lead the team to victory. I do not see him as a very strong leader.
